Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies,

I'm so excited to find a board dedicated to the Excellence Riviera Cancun! FI and I are getting married there this November 26th (the day before Thanksgiving).  I haven't been to the resort before and am really looking forward to connecting with others who are doing the same planning as I am.

@@HNeal the passport is a nice idea!  Did you have rsvp cards with your entree choices to pick?  I found a cute invite with matching rsvp's and I'll put the two entrees so guests can choose.  Happy your pics are great!

We had not picked our food when the invites went out.  We sent our invites out super early to give guests a chance to plan.  Ideally we would have put that info in the invitation b/c I had to collect that info after the fact.  We did have an RSVP card which was the back page of the passport that gets torn off and mailed back to us.  We included a space where guests can write in the dates they would be in Mexico so we were able to plan activities accordingly.

I didn't realize we get to choose entree choices, I thought it was just one selection for everyone, unless someone has dietary restrictions?

Were is everyone planning on having their cocktail reception?  Orginally we were thinking the pier but Jessica just told me X Lounge is also available and after seeing the pictures I might be leaning that way.

@@HNeal, we went through a travel agent and did save the dates so all our guests already booked their rooms. We don't really need a formal invite since we know who is definitely coming but because of the entree choice we're gonna do one with RSVP cards.

@@Sabes44 I was told you can have two entree choices but the resort must have the seating chart and their entrees a month before wedding. We are planning on The Lobster House.

@@seb1230 Welcome to the discussion. I've been to the resort 4 times, you'll love it!!! I'm getting married May 2015.

Thank you!  I can't wait.  You guys are giving me a lot to think about. I haven't even chosen my menu or flowers yet! Just the locations for each dinner/cocktail hour we're having.

Help Ladies!!!  Did or Will anyone have a welcome/rehersal dinner?  We are having a welcome dinner for everyone the night before the wedding at Oregano (outside area of restaurant).  I asked Jessica for food options and she sent me a sample menu but the food is real fancy.  For the wedding I don't mind this but I'd like to have more plain items for the welcome dinner.  Did anyone have a simple menu for their welcome dinner???

If your welcome/rehearsal dinner is private then you have to pick the menu. And you pay extra per person.

If it is semi-private then you eat whatever is on the menu at that particular restaurant. You chose Oregano so I know it's pizza and pastas. Semi-private can only be for 20 people max though and you don't have to pay extra per person for that. We chose Agave for Welcome dinner and we had fajitas off the menu.

Hope that answers your question.

We are doing a welcome cocktail party at the X-Lounge.  I have a related question.  It sounds like the semi-private dinners are capped at 20 people.  We are going to have 23 including us. Does anyone happen to know if we can pay extra for the 3 over 20 and still have a semi-private dinner?  We have booked a semi-private dinner the night before the wedding at Tuscana and I'm hoping we don't have to figure out a back-up plan.  I'll email Jessica but wondered if anyone had experience with this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
