Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

@@hapykat - If you google "Excellence Riviera Cancun wedding photographer" (or something similar) you should get links to various professional photographers photos. I searched quite a bit when researching resorts and photographers and it is really helpful to see the weddings in action. :)

Here are two with a pier ceremony:

I got married @ ERC in June.

The gazebo would definitely be your best bet. I say ditch the heels for the ceremony (have a cute little shoe drop off spot) and then they can put them back on for cocktail hour and reception. Beach gazebo holds a large number of guests. We had 34 fit in there. They can keep extending it back past the gazebo itself. I would agree with other guests and say the pier is not a good fit for 70 people.

For reception the Lobster House has a great breeze coming from the ocean! It wouldn't be too hot.  I wouldn't recommend the Garibaldi Square due to no breeze back there! It's at the back of the resort. Barcelona is very blah and it does have the dividers that would probably section off your group. We had originally picked Barcelona due to the "air-condition" but we saw it and switched locations a few days before our wedding while we were at the resort. We had ours in the Foyer and it was beautiful! Ask Gloria if your group could fit in there. I'd be happy to send any pics if you need any additional help.

To clarify, I was talking about the gazebo that's not on the beach when I said I don't think it can accommodate as many people. When I had first glanced at your post I thought that's what you meant because I just saw gazebo and, while I know they call the beach option a gazebo, I just hadn't been thinking of it like that. Sorry!

We brought 100 $1.00 bills for our trip and tipped bartenders/servers throughout our stay. Ha, the bank probably thought we were going to a strip club :) For the photographer, we tipped them at the end of the night. We thought he was Ah-mazing!! (not included in $100 for tipping bartenders) The guests tipped the bartenders on our wedding night.

What package has everyone chosen??  I am debating between the excellence of love or gold package.  Just can't decide!  I don't think we are going to end up having a DJ or a very long reception.  Just wondering if the extras in the gold package are worth it...??

@@Sabes44 - We are going with the Gold package. I think we'll also do a private welcome dinner for everyone, too. We are staying in an "Excellence Club" level room, so we will be getting about $800 off the wedding package total. We really want our guests, who are obviously paying good money for the trip, to enjoy themselves and have a memorable time. Also, we just have the view of once-in-a-lifetime, so some things are worth splurging for, in our opinion. That being said, everyone has a different budget and like/dislikes, so what is important to us may not be to other people (and vice versa), and that's okay. :)

One of the things we are interested in is the live percussion and fire show. Has anyone seen or done this at this particular resort? (I've seen shows like this elsewhere, but just curious about this specific performance.)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
