Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

hi! we are getting married at excellence riviera july 6, 2015 (so far away, i know) and am loving this thread of comments - very helpful! i'm wondering if anyone feedback on staying at the excellence club honeymoon suite versus a "less fancy" room - is it worth the extra money?? i'd like the extra room in the suite for the wedding day - the whole getting ready thing - but we will obviously be spending most of our time OUTSIDE of the room with our friends and family. any input on room selection is appreciated!

Congrats on your wedding! I'm getting married in August and started planning a year out so you're right on schedule! The time goes fast. We went back and forth on the room decision so many times. We knew we would book the club (def worth it!) but couldn't decide on room. We ultimately decided on the suite with rooftop terrace instead of the honeymoon suite. I think it's worth to get a little something extra for such a special occasion. We thought we would use the private lounge area and plunge pool on the roof more then we would an extra room. Whatever you choose it will be amazing!

Where is everyone having their reception? We can't decide!!

We are doing our ceremony on the beach gazebo, cocktail hour at los olas, and HOPEFULLY reception at the lobster house. However, Jessica said she could not confirm the Lobster House until 3 months before (in case it needs maintenance or something). I've read that the Foyer can be pretty hot?

We also requested the Lobster House and were told the same thing. We were going to change it to the beach but decided to stick with lobster house. I also read the foyer was too hot. We are doing the beach gazebo for ceremony and pier for cocktail hour. Fingers crossed we both get to enjoy the lobster house :)

I am keeping my fingers crossed for the Lobster House as well. I'm coming up close to the 3 month mark but Jessica also told me we cannot book the Lobster House unless we have 35 people. We are currently 30. I'm hoping she makes an exception.

We are having the ceremony on the beach and cocktail hour at Las Olas.

I hired Lucidum Photography. Amazing! I cannot wait. I think we are gonna go with the DJ. Originally we were thinking to just use speakers but we really don't want to have to be worried about anything.

I will keep you ladies posted on Lobster House.

We are also using a DJ. I think it'll be easier to have someone else handle music and I think it'll give the reception more energy, the DJ can introduce us and kind of get everyone pumped lol rather then an iPod. We haven't picked one yet. We also haven't picked a photographer yet but @@HNeal I will look into your referral, thanks! We are just finalizing the date with Jessica. Once we do that, I'll start hiring!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
