I just got engaged last Sunday and I am planning on booking our wedding for Fall of 2014, I think in Oct but it's not final yet. I am not sure about the weather that time of year. Anyway, I have emailed all emails addresses they give on the website to get more wedding information like additional options/pricing, also what the groups rates are. No one has gotten back to me. Has everyone else had this problem?? Can someone give me the direct email address to the wedding coordinator, so I am able to get the needed information?

Thanks! J

Hi Jillian,

It just takes a while for the wedding coordinators to get back to you. Apparently they get a lot of requests about potential weddings everyday. Added on to that are those of us who have booked our weddings there and are constantly hounding them with questions and the weddings that take place everyday ;) How long has it been since you've sent them an email? I think in the beginning it took them about a week to respond to me.

Hey jilianlws!

I went through a travel agent to book our trip and she contacted them about the wedding.  After ERC had my booking info they put me in touch with the wedding coordinator.  I don't think they will really be incontact with you until you have actually booked your stay.  They will then ask you to pick 2 dates for your wedding and will let you know what is available.  I hope this helps!

Hi UMassRN007! Exciting that you decided on Excellence, I'm sure you will love it. I've been to ERC before for a trip a few years ago and it was amazing. Swim up vs. oceanfront is a tough call. I prefer the top floor because I really like the view of the ocean from up above better. The swim ups can have blocked views of the ocean (palm trees, chairs, etc.). But, I can see the appeal of being able to walk out your door and hang out in a hammock or hop in the pool. Good luck deciding!!

My fiance and I are getting married November 15th, 2013 at Excellence Cancun!!! We can't wait!!! I have some questions about the hair salon and make up for the day before and of the wedding. I wanted to know if anyone had advice or if I should bring a picture for the hair stylists there. I wonder if its going to be difficult to request certain hair styles. Hmm...Any advice?

I can't remember who asked these questions but I have responses from Gloria on them:

For a ceremony at the beach gazebo, the walk from where the bride/bridesmaids wait to the altar is about 2 minutes. I'm trying to figure out my music timing for the walk.

The round tables for the reception can seat a maximum of 10 people, although I think I might go with 6 or 8.

The bar set up for you at the reception is an international bar so it has everything: tequila, wine, sparkling wine, cocktails, rum, etc.

Bring a picture. I got married there last month. They did a good job but didn't use enough hairspray. So bring your too. Makeup was good but we had to do some fixing as they didn't use the right tint to match face with body...over all good tho.

Do you think it'd make sense to bring some of your own makeup, especially foundation if they couldn't get the right shade? And I'll add hairspray to my packing list. Thanks.

I think this is a bit long. The walk is probably more like 45 seconds ..2 mins is if you are a snail. We walked at a slow pace like you see in movies at it took at max one min. The walk is short. I wouldn't worry too much about length of music just get a few songs and then be able to change it for the bride. We used wedding DJ app it was awesome! If you use that then you put in extra songs and not play them if you don't need them.

Good to know. 2 minutes sounded long but I thought maybe it was a long hike. I'm going to look into wedding DJ, thanks for that.

Your wedding looks like it was awesome! Thanks for the review, photos and all the specifics, it helps so much. It sounds like there's not much to worry about!

I thought we could only choose one main entree for the meal. I really want to offer two choices. Did you have to pay extra for that?

Wow! Thanks Carolyn! Your wedding was beautiful! I'm wanting to do something similar with flowers- mostly white with pops of coral, pink and orange. My bridesmaids are wearing turquoise. What did you do for your bouquet?

Also, when you brought all that stuff into Mexico (as I plan to), did you have to declare the wedding items & gifts as 'goods'? I was trying to determine if we'd be taxed on all the stuff we're taking down there.

Everyone- are you taking your own toasting glasses/knife/set thing down there? Or do they give you one?

For the OOT bag, I am thinking of getting all the ladies a floral light weight kimono style robe, really cute ones on etsy. I can't figure out what to get for the men. Any ideas? I'm on my two month count down starting tomorrow!!! Heading to my bachelorette weekend tomorrow morning!! Very Excited!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
