Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

So, I looked at the map again trying to see where Barcelona could be.  Is it near the wedding site on the beach and the piers or the other end of the resort near the beach and the one pier?  I just want an idea and I can't believe it's not on the map.  Here's the map, if someone can shed some light as to which building it would be

Thanks so much!!!!

Hi Mandy!

I'm getting married in June at ERC and have been there before.  I'm not sure why it isn't marked on the map, but if my memory serves me correctly Barcelona is the unmarked orange building in between 12 and 14 on the map.  That's where I'm having my reception too!

Alright ladies, the day is approaching! I have two months and eleven days until the big day!

I have everything purchased for my OOT guest bags but I'm wondering what other people are doing in terms of putting the bags together before arriving at the resort or after you get there?  I think packing everything will be a lot easier if we keep everything separate (Advil packets stay in their box, sunscreens stay in their box, etc.) but on the other hand once I'm at the resort I don't see myself really wanting to spend any time putting OOT bags together!  I wanna be having FUN before my wedding haha

We can't decide if we want to do a sand ceremony or not...my thinking is we either do a sand ceremony and DO NOT recite our own vows, or we recite our own vows and DO NOT have a sand ceremony.  Fiance is a tad bit opposed to reciting our own vows, because he thinks it's kinda cheesy. rolleyes.gif But I think the sand ceremony is cheesier!  I like the idea of doing vows...feels more genuine.  Plus we are really trying to keep the ceremony simple.

I'm also trying to decide a song I want to walk down the aisle to...any previous brides know how long the walk down the aisle takes when doing the beach ceremony?  Trying to find the perfect song...

Would love other brides' opinions on this stuff - I feel like I'm honing in on the final details and this is the hardest part! Buying everything was EASY lol

I was wondering the same thing about OOT bags. Not only is it easier to transport together but it sounds like they search through your bags and you have to produce receipts. I imagine this would move along quicker if you had all of your sunscreens together, advil packages, etc. The only thing I thought is that the first night I'm there maybe I will stay up late, put all the bags together and be done with it? I don't think I'll go crazy with the little tags with sayings on everything, which admittedly are cute but it would be time consuming putting it all on.

We're not doing a sand ceremony because we just wouldn't keep the sand thingy. I'm sure they're pretty but we don't have lots of decorative stuff in our house. Your FI may think vows are cheesy but the day is about love and no one is going to rib him for his vows. We'll definitely be doing our own vows, especially since we can't personalize the legal ceremony.

You're getting so close! It sounds like you have it all pretty organized. Soon you'll be having fun and relaxing down there!

Has anyone been in contact with the spa at ERC? I've been trying to make hair and makeup appointments for myself and my bridal party but the communication has been hard. I feel like I write carefully worded emails with specific questions, but they never answer them. They respond back with questions to the same things I already sent them (ie: how long is your hair? when is your wedding day?). Ummm, I already told you all of that, but okay here it is again and then I resend my original questions and get....no answers back.

I also told them I wanted all of us to be done by a specific time and then they sent me a tentative booking and some of the girls won't be finished until just before the ceremony. Ummm no, I'm trying to avoid stress.

I haven't been anxious about very much for this wedding but I really want to have at least an hour before the ceremony to chill out with my girls, my Mom and FMIL, relax and get into my dress when the photographers arrive. I've had so many girlfriends tell me to make sure to schedule extra time to get ready, because stuff happens. Maybe I should just go through Gloria.

We have decided that we don't want the hassle of trying to get everything to the resort and are thinking of delivering the OOT bags a week or two before the trip with a letter saying how excited we are to spend time with our friends and family. ( And maybe sneak a bottle or two of Corona into the bags!) I know it;s cheating, but I really don't want to drag all that to Mexico along with chair sashes etc!

I would love to know the answer to how long the walk is also!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
