And here are a few from our Cenote Trash the Dress (the Monday morning following our wedding).  Again, check out http://www.juanphotos.com/.  Can't go wrong with Juan Navarro in our opinion!!!  This stuff looks like it's from a magazine... seriously can't believe they're OUR wedding pictures?!  Also, the best part is that the cenote was freshwater... so my dress isn't ruined AT ALL.  After the shoot, I left hung the dress up to dry (my bridal shop told me not to "wring it out"), and it is FINE!   The bridal shop told me that salt-water on the beach & sand (if we had done a traditional trash the dress) would have ruined the dress for sure, but since this was just a fresh-water dunk, nothing was ruined!  My dress was made out of charmeuse satin with a lace over-lay.  The leather from Bryan's belt bled onto his pants, but it was a recent suit from the Express, so he just bought a new pair of pants to go with the suit!

Jill conner and Sunset-your pictures are gorgeous! I am still waiting for mine....getting nervous.

For the dinner, I chose the beef with scallops. Everyone loved it(they all loved the food). We had 24 people total (including me and hubby).  I was thinking of doing a choice of two, but then I thought not to. I didn't want to have to stress about it.  And plus, if they didn't like it, they could always have gone somewhere else or gotten room service. I felt I had stressed enough about everything, and I should just relax and enjoy.

As I said before, it was very very windy and my hair fell. I dont like the way I look with my hair up, so I decided to go with it down. The pictures that guests took, my hair is all over the place. It wasn't what my 'ideal' look was for my wedding day (everyone else on here looks so calm and non-dishelved), but we were on the beach in mexico and I loved it. Everyone had a great time. I have attached a few photos (first time doing it, so I dont know if they attached).

Hi! My understanding is that it's $45.00 per person beyond 20 (bride and groom included in 20). That is supposed to cover cocktail hour, dinner and cake/sparkling wine. I'm not sure if they're willing to negotiate on that, especially if it's a large group, but it's probably worth asking.

I looked into Elizabeth Medina, Cecilia Dumas, & Del Sol.  Their prices were outrageous (the only one I specifically remember is Elizabeth - her packages STARTED at $5,000 - then of course you have to pay the Excellence to have her there).  My friend used Juan Navarro & her pictures were really great, our package is less than $2,000.  I absolutely loved Elizabeth & Del Sol's photography, but Juan's pictures & style are very similar for lass than 1/2 the price.

I am using Juan Navarro.  I looked into 3 other photographers & their prices are outrageous (approx $5,000).  I looked at the resort photographer's photos & wasn't happy with them at all.  You can search online & look at examples of their work.  Juan was the style we were looking for, and the most reasonable price I could find.

Hello ladies!

I am new to this thread, and am booked to have my wedding at ERC on April 1, 2013! I am super excited for the wedding, but anxious about all of the planning...so many details to worry about! Next on my to do list is booking a photographer. Has anyone used the in-house photographer for their wedding here? So far it seems like everyone has been using outside photogs, but I know there is an outside vendor fee of $500 charged to do that. Has anyone been able to negotiate that price down? Or been able to negotiate any of the prices/inclusions of the wedding packages and extras? So far I don't get the feeling that they are very flexible with pricing and package customizing. Anyway, please share your thought and experiences with photographers and pricing with me. Thanks!

I'm planning for my wedding on July 27, 2013, with about 50 people and I am wondering about the photographer as well!  I am using extra funds in my budget for hiring DJ Mannia, as all of the reviews I have read sound great.  I was just going to get the package the resort offered for photographs and have my friend take the rest since he has a photography background.  I was wondering about the resort photographers though.  I really don't have another 2-5k in my budget!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
