I just found out that Nayeli is no longer doing weddings.  She got a promotion and is working with all of the excellence resorts.  I am freaking out just a tad because now we have Gloria.  There wasn't an email introducing her to me or anything like that. I emailed Nayeli a question and Gloria responded. I had to ask her why Nayeli was.  For those of you who have Gloria, is she good? My wedding is 2 months to the day TODAY.  She said she has all my information and not to worry, but how can I not?  I would be more easy-going about this if someone had just emailed me and told me.  Also, for those of you who have Nayeli, did you get Gloria?

BunnyBride - I have been working with Gloria from the start and she has been wonderful. I know it's hard not to worry, since Nayeli was handling your wedding initially - but seriously Gloria has been great!

On a side note, I just saw your post about OOT bags and stuff you've gotten so far. Where did you get your chair sashes? I would rather buy some and bring them down as opposed to paying for them down there. Another thing...I didn't even think about customs confiscating the Gatorade packets, advil/pepto/etc!!! I hope that doesn't happen because that would totally ruin the bags :( ok maybe that's a little dramatic but it would really suck!!

SunsetLove-Thank you for telling me about Gloria. Im sure it will be fine-just very nerve wracking.

I got my chair sashes at www.tableclothsfactory.com.  I paid something like 69 cent per sash.  If you buy them at the resort, I thought nayeli said they were $5 per sash-which is INSANE.  I bought the satin sashes and really like them.  If you do buy them, just remmeber to take them out of their plastic packaging as the read 'made in china' and they might be taken from you.  I really like the colors-I was alittle scared of what color they really would be. I got the fuschia and light orange.

Regarding the OTT bag contents-I was thinking of sending down 2 packages to the resort.  One with the chair sashes, cocktail napkins, fans, and other non-food/medicine related items.  The second with all the gatorade and pepto, etc.  Not sure yet if I will do it. It is VERY upsetting to think that anything I send will not make it and be stuck in customs!!!

Thank you! I will definitely have to check out that website! If you do send down a couple packages, let me know how it turns out because I may do the same. I am in the same boat as you...I don't want to spend all this money and put the effort into the OOT bags only to have half of it stuck in customs :(

stella331-I actually saw someone's (can't remember her name) wedding photos on here and she got married at Excellence Cancun.  Her colors were the same as mine (fuschia and orange) and she used satin sashes and I saw it (she used satin) and said "that's what my wedding is going to look like".

So far Gloria has answered all my questions very quickly, but I just don't feel the warmth that I did with Nayeli.  She is probably overwhelmed right now taking over, what I would think, be all of the weddings there. Or maybe it's just her personality? I do feel better that people have told me they have her and like her. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
