Royal Playa del Carmen Wedding May 2, 2012 - Help!

    We are getting married at the Royal Playa del Carmen in May 2012. I would love some help from anyone who has been married there recently or is planning a wedding coming up!

     

    We have chosen the Luxury package...is it worth it?  I am not a big fan of the Funever photographer they use (based on their website) and plan to hire an offsite photographer.  

     

    I have read on several reviews that people have hired Marvin from Maya Diseno to do their flowers.  Does anyone know if you have to pay the offsite vendor cost to have flowers delivered?  The cost of the flowers at the resort are really high and I am hoping to find some ways to cut some costs.  

     

    We are choosing a buffet option for our guests...has anyone gone this route?  We don't like the idea of choosing  one meal for all our guests.  

     

    I have seen some people have the lounge furniture...is this something that people recommend?  Expensive??

     

    One last thing...we are getting married at 4:30 and cocktails to follow at 5-6 then dinner 6-onward.  We have thought of paying to have the extra hours...has anyone had their wedding go until 11pm (the latest hour possible)?  We aren't sure if it is better to just pay for the 1 hour and then let people have the choice or if it worth it to pay for the two extra hours.

     

    Any help anyone can provide would be fantastic!!!

      I too an new at this, but I did attend a DW in RM in 2008 that went on until 11p!  When people are having a GREAT time...time tends to fly!  I say go for the extras!
