MJKH - Wedding week survival bags are done!!! Lots of pics : )

Recommended Posts

After a trip out to Costco this morning, we were ready to do a quick trial of our snack packs which will be given to our guests at the resort (along with their welcome brochure, key card holder, travel candle and personalized postcards from Vistaprint).  This is what is going into a pack for the families with children...the other kits will not include the push pops/mini m&ms.

So, here's the breakdown:

Lindt 3 pack on clearance at Safeway this week for .85

Dove family-size chocolate bars on clearance at Safeway this week for $1

Push Pops, Mini M&Ms, Jolly Ranchers were from Dollarama (2/$1 or $1)

Blue Diamond tin of almonds on sale at Wal-Mart for $2

Packages of nuts and box of Caramilk bars (FI's favourite treat) from Costco

Mints and gum from Great Canadian Wholesale Club

There is certainly no shortage of food at our all-inclusive, but we thought since everyone has a minifridge with water, beer and soft drinks refilled daily, it would be nice to have some treats for late at night.

Just like the wedding survival kits, we had the oversize postcards printed thru Vistaprint, clipped the corners, used a bone folder (see foreground) to score the card to get a nice clean fold...and staple!  We won't be assembling the kits until the afternoon we arrive in Mexico to try to protect the chocolate from melting and to have the kits look as nice as possible when they are delivered.

Last projects with two weeks to go...wait for the final Vistaprint order and assemble key card holders.

Here's our last official project...the key card and tip money holders.  Cards are double-sided business cards from Vistaprint with some helpful Spanish words/phrases on the back side.  The plastic card holders were ordered from ebay and the bright pink and chocolate brown stretchy bracelets came from Wal-Mart.

Now just to finish the packing...tomorrow is my last day of work and we're leaving in 4 more sleeps! : )

Wow your OOT bags, baskets, and goody bags are amazing!!  Koodo's to you for putting so much effort into them.  I've been trying to come up with ideas for our OOT bags/favours but don't think I can fit anything this elaborate into my budget, but you do have some awesome ideas that I may have to snag :)

Hope you have a wonderful wedding!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
