Parent Gifts

Kind of the same as Kelly in that Brian and I paid completely for the wedding on our own, so I didn't feel a need for any real gift.

I did however make them hardcover albums on Snapfish as a little memento gift. They came out nicely.

For the fathers (and Jeremy) we got them all monogrammed handkerchiefs from Exclusively weddings.

For his mom and stepmom we got them ladies hankies with little pearls sewen around them.

For my mom I got her a little silver tissue box from Jean M that had a mirror inside and it is engraved with a poem on the outside.

We also wrote cards for all of them.

Gosh, I haven't really thougth of anything good yet. I am making big beach bags for both sets of parents for before the trip and filling with things like lotion, passport covers, towels, travel size toiletries, tshirts i'm having made with our logos and mother of bride, groom, etc. But i haven't thought of anything else to give them yet.

Sam gave my mom a really nice cashmere pashmina and a starfish broach from swarovski. We gave her boyfriend (who is essentially my step-dad) an engraved lighter and a hankie. I gave my mom a monogrammed hankie with a really sweet poem. I thought it was going to be cheesy, but she loved it :)

Good post....I've been wondering exactly the same thing. We are taking my parents for a nice dinner this Sat. (they paid for my dress) and then I want to make them a shutterfly book when we get back from Jamaica of pictures from the whole week, not just the wedding.

I may get them something in Jamaica too but I have been so torn about "what".

Oh I have no clue. I saw this nice frame from swarovski but not sure b/c my sister just got married in sept and got them those digital frame things.

The saying that was posted below is cute..."To remember the day you gave me away" ...maybe I can incorporate that somehow into a gift.

Hmmm ORR they love stained glass, maybe I can get them a piece with a peacock on it since I'm doing peacock feathers with the flowers and all. Kinda like alil reminder, is that cheesey? I have a lot of time ti think it over I guess.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
