What's everyone doing for flowers?!

So, fellow cruise brides, what are you all doing for flowers?!  I'm kind of stuck and can't decide how I want to handle them...  if I go through Carnival and get their "tropical" flowers, it'll be $685 for all the bouquets & bouts, etc that I need.  If I do them myself with silk, I got it to around $200 but then I have to deal with getting them to Florida and lugging them all onto the ship.  FI is cheap (and I mean cheap cheesy.gif) and thinks we should just stick with what Carnival includes in the package, which is my bouquet and his bout. Which means nothing for my maid of honor, his best man, or our parents. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, just wondering what y'all are doing and who all you're getting flowers for.

I think Im going to order mine from angelsaccent If she can do the style I want. She offers real touch flowers. Here are some inspirational pictures. We are getting married in St. Thomas while in port at the marriott frenchmans reef.

These are real flowers but I hope she can make them using her real touch flowers that are suppose to look amazingly real. Fingers crossed. I'll be emailing her on Monday.

I bought a package of flowers, which were real touch flowers, which included plumerias, orchids, calla lillies and some hibiscus(these were not real touch).  The package came with 3 bouquets, 2 corsages and some single stem bouts, that with a little extra work on my part, I was able to make what I needed.

I have 1 larger bouquet for me, 1 smaller for my MOH.  3 corsages for the moms and grandma, two i made into wrist corsages and 1 pin-on.  The groom's bout I redid to include 2 flowers and leaves, the best man, did with 1 flower and leaves, the dads bouts, I am not sure we will use, but they are single stem with ribbon.  I added some flowers to the basket for the flower girl to carry.  And I have multiple flowers remaining to use on or around the cake.

All this for almost $300.  It is much pricier than using the white bouquet that comes with thecruiseline package, but I am getting almost exactly what I want (in a perfect world, I could have real flowers...).

If you are very handy at arranging flowers, you can even order stems online for an even bigger discount than buying an already made bouquet.  Not all flowers are readily available (like the plumerias that I had to have LOL)

I've ordered flowers from Angel's Accents as well. I totally know what you mean about the super cheap FI, lol. My selling point to him was that I'll be selling them after the wedding so this way we can at least make some of our money back on it - while getting the flowers that I wanted.

Ok for some reason it did not post the content from last nightthatswck.gif. We are going to go with the flowers offered with the package and I will bring some bling and peacock feathers to spruce them up. I'm thinking about making tissue paper pomanders (December Brides magazine) and have my bridesmaids carry those or make peacock wrist corsages and boutonnieres.

That's a good idea! I didn't even think about selling them afterwards. woot2.gif I guess I'll have to try and make my case again for the fakes ones.  Then I'll just have to worry about getting them on the ship along with all my other junk, argh!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
