Atlantis Wedding - January 2012

I'll be getting married at Atlantis in late January 2012 and I'm so behind in the planning process (just had my first baby)! I've looked over several threads and am feeling overwhelmed but hopeful, so many great ideas. Our wedding is on a Monday evening (approx. 50 guests) and I'm wondering about the music selection. Has anyone hired the steel drums at the reception or do most people do the DJ? Also would love ideas as to where to head after for some drinks and dancing. Thanks!

Hi, Im a newbie at this and would love to have our wedding at Atlantis but Im affraid it will be to exspensive for our guest! Do they give you any kind of deals if you have a large party book? I just feel like a lot of the All Inclusive's are wedding factory's but that is the more affordable way for people to go doing destination weddings.

Atlantis gives very reasonable room rates when you book with a large group, I believe it's the rest of the "extras" that make it expensive (i.e., food, golf, spa, etc.). We realize most guests on our list will not be able to go due to cost so we are planning on having a cocktail party when we return home.

I am getting married next December at the Atlantis and the room rates given to our guests are great. They have been so helpful with all of my questions. I know Atlantis can be a bit expensive but I have heard so many members of my family/friends say they will never have an opportunity to go to the Atlantis for such inexpensive room rates.

I have contacted Wildflowers Bahamas for our decor needs. I have started pricing DJs and other vendors for music, photography, etc but I'm just in the beginning stages. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me at anytime!

I just visited Atlantis for the Poker Stars tournament and Electric Blue party January 14th That hotel is amazing! I was photographing the event. I got to see some beautiful weddings on my off day. They are so accommodating! Even for vendors. and the hotel has so many wonderful spots for portraits! Let me know if you're looking for a photographer!

May I ask when your wedding is?   My FI and I are in the process of choosing a date for 2013. We are looking at staying at the Atlantis resort and having our ceremony at the Cloisters at One and Only.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
