Jilly - I swear those words could've come out of my mouth, they fit my situation so perfectly. I live in a different city then my friends now, so I never see them or talk to them anymore. We spend all out time with our families and Matt's friends. So even though my life-long friends won't be there, my current friends will be and it's going to be awesome!

I'm kind of annoyed with the people that aren't coming to ours, mostly my friends because none of them are coming, but a lot of FI's are. But up until this week FI had no one coming from his family, so I'm glad that his brother and his wife are coming now.

Its funny because I say "none of my friends are coming", but you know what? I spend more time with FI's friends, which are my friends now too, and with FI's brothers wife, we're also friends, so I'm not going to worry about my friends that I never see anymore, its their loss if they don't want to come to mexico!

That sucks Mo! We had family that was going to back out because their friends are going to the DR in December. Their loss, that's what I say!

Our resort is small, and although we had a backup plan for overflow, we didn't want to have to use it. We sent out about 35 invites, and have 22 people coming, with a few still sitting on the fence. We only have 1 room available (if we move some people around), so I'm sort of hoping no one else wants to come. It'll be small and intimate and wonderful! We can't wait!

We realize that not everyone will be able to come to our DW, due to conflicting schedules or because they cannot afford it. But I have one friend, who before we even announced when or WHERE the wedding would be, she said, Oh I probably won't go. I said, HUH? It was so odd to me. We hadn't even picked a date or place for the wedding yet. It was when we announced our engagement.

Ah, well. I will be thankful for anyone that comes!

  • 2 weeks later...

we have a initial yes's of 84 and 50 maybes and 31 nos.. so expecting about 110 maybe... we are very happy with that number. plus we are having an AHR which about 120 of my family and parents friends who can't or won't be making the trip. so that's a good turn out in our eyes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
