2012 Riu Palace Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi there, my name is Kristina and my fiance and I have just booked our wedding to take place Nov 2012 at the Riu Palace. Its so great to see so many past and future brides oppinions and past experiences. I am so nervous about waiting until 2 months before my wedding date to book of the wedding details. Did anyone have the option of booking the location of the reception at an earlier time?

Thanks

hey, so as far as the steakhouse (if you rented it solo, the site fee its about 1800 and they provide the usual menu that they would if they were open for business. It does NOT include alcohol as in Drinks...they provide beer, wine and soda. if you want your guests to have liquor, then you would have to pay $16 per person.

Also, to book this restaurant you need a MINIMUM of 60 people..they wont let you book it otherwise.

Because the wedding is an ' exclusive' event that you are having at the hotel so in that case they can charge for the venue, the alcohol , the food ( if you choose to have  a private dinner). They take advantage of the weddings just like a venue back in your hometown does. It sucks , but it's still cheaper than having a large wedding back home - in my case anyways :) Goodluck ladies!

Hello My RIU brides!  Hope everyones planning is going well.  I'm having a bit of a sad day...Just got an e-mail that my WC, Adriana Diaz is no longer with the RIU, and someone named Jatziri Acero is my new coordinator...oh boy!  I only say this because Adriana was excellent...Although my wedding isn't until May 12, she answered my 1000 questions since January of 2011 when I booked this place.  I just hope that everything goes smoothly.  Anyone else have this new coordinator?   On a better note, I did get what I believe to be the 2012 menu.  It looks different than the ones I had before, and I have attached it for you all.  Jatziri said "attaching the the menus for the Baja Norte", but I would assume that its the same menu for all private events.

For those of you who are having the civil ceremony like oursleves, I tried asking how we go about the translation and aposille of our birth certificates, but didn't really get very far there.  Jatziri just said "The documents you need make the apostille and translation with a certificate nortary."  Ok so I am a notary and I don't know what the hell we are supposed to do!  Has anyone done this?  Do you just write in right on your birth certificate in Spanish next to the English info?

I am also booking the DJ package for $540.00 which includes the sound system and lighting.  If anyone has any feedback on this, please feel free to share :)

Thanks everyone!  Happy Planning!  If you can't open attachments and need the menu for the private events, feel free to e-mail me at

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
