OOT bags - When to give them to your guests?

Recommended Posts

I guess people appreciate it no matter how you do it because of the thought and time the couple puts into making these OOT. There isn't really a right or wrong way, more of a what's the most inexpensive best way.

We are taking all our OOT stuff, assembling them down in Jamaica, and then handing them out.  We only have 12 to do so not a lot of stuff to bring.  I like the idea of handing them out at the airport.

Hmmm, something to think about....

We probably will not be handing them out ahead of time.... No one lives in this town with us! Most people - with the exception of 2 couples, I think - will probably be traveling out of the same airport as us, so we could do it then. I really like the idea of giving them to people as they arrive, or, since we will basically all be arriving together in our case, at a casual welcome dinner (all meeting at the lobby bar, for example). We are not doing full OOT bags, but we will have a welcome booklet (passport style) and bubbas filled with things. Gosh, now I am not sure... hmmm.....

I am trying to look for beach bag towels- you know the bags that convert into a towel and then you can fold it back up into a bag when you're done. I need to find it at a decent price so I am hoping to find a sale somewhere. And then just put in a booklet with information for our guests etc. Maybe a bath bomb as well because the resort we are looking at have a jacuzzi tub in each room. Simple and not too much. Hope it works! I think once we get everything together, we can decide how to do it.

I just got the list from the TA detailing when everyone arrives and it has helped me make my decision. I will designate someone from each group of people coming in to text me when they are leaving the airport, heading to the resort. Then i will grab the bags and meet them in the lobby. This way they can have their bags right away, and they have a personal, friendly welcome!!! We have 70 people coming in roughly five groups, so I think this will be fairly easy. I hope!

I have heard of this being done, and think it would be very nice. HOWEVER, I personally have heard way too many stories of things being shipped going missing. I would rather keep things with me as much as possible. With my luck, something would go wrong for sure. Of course, that could just be the control freak in me. :)

I definitely plan on shipping ours to our planner at the resort before the wedding so that they can give them out either at the front desk or place them in the rooms.  I plan on using priority mail with tracking so I can be sure that the package gets there.  I have too much other stuff that I'm bringing down in my luggage to be worried about OOT bags too.  :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
