Can't decide between Dreams Los Cabos and Hilton Los Cabos... Need help!!

Hi everyone!!

I am new to the site, and I'm loving everything I read!

My fiance and I just came back from Cabo after taking a look at a few resorts for upcoming wedding.

I absolutely fell in LOVE with the Hilton. The views are spectacular, the beach is swimable and the WC is fast to respond to all my emails/questions. The only problem is that it seems to be overpriced. We only plan on having about 30 guests, so want to keep the cost to a minimum.

I really liked the Dreams. The resort looks great - a lot more crowded than the Hilton, the WC takes a long time to respond to my emails (I guess they have 2 weddings a day so are super busy), BUT the price is well between our budget.

I'd like some feedback on brides that have had their weddings or plan to have their weddings at either hotel. We'd like to make our decision by end of the week since we only have about 6 months to plan!!

Any informartion would be truly appreciated!! :)

Welcome! I would try finding Cabo specific threads to discuss pricing and what not with other brides getting married there.  Good luck with your planning!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

There is so much information on this site so you might want to take a day and go through the reviews. I would also take a look at people's wedding pictures from either location. I know there are a lot of Dreams brides on this forum so you'd be able to get a good idea of what a wedding there would look like. You can also do a search for Hilton Los Cabos and see what you can find. There are reviews and also photos as well, so you can take a look at that as well.

On a side note, I just returned from Los Cabos yesterday and I personally feel you can't go wrong at either location as far as the setting goes. I haven't actually been inside either of the resorts which I know might not be helpful but I'm just talking about the general beauty of Los Cabos, which I'm sure you understand since you just did a site visit for each place. So you might want to decide what your priority is. Do you think if you have your wedding at Dreams you will wonder if you should have paid a little more for what you saw at the Hilton? Or will you be just as happy at Dreams (as far as location goes)? I think that when it gets closer to the wedding, the pace of response from the wedding coordinators may pick up; but if that makes you anxious, it's probably good to consider the faster more responsive people. Trust me, you want to minimize as much stress as you can. You want to be able to be as relaxed as you can on your wedding day and every little bit helps.

Also is access to a swimable beach important? Dreams is not that far from Chileno Bay which is a public swimable beach and if you organize a beach excursion day, that might be something fun to do, and you get to leave the hotel.

Good luck with your planning and no matter which place you end up choosing, I'm sure your wedding will be absolutely beautiful!

In my point of view both resorts are great, right now the dreams hotel changed wedding planners, pure coincidence that this happened but it did and so having new coordinators they have to adjust to the massive emails they get on a daily basis you might have to wait a little on reply´s or just call them if its really urgent.   Just wanted to give a heads up on the matter.  I rally like the dreams hotel, I often go there for weddings ( I am a photographer) and I also talked to the wedding coordinators and that is what they told me.  They are even staying late in fact to get back to all of those emails they get.  They have their hands full but r working on it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
