Hi all,

I'm Kimberly from Chicago. Im getting married March/ April 07 & haven't picked the place yet. My guy & I are adventure seekers, scuba & hiking rain forests, etc but I need my feet in the sunny sand for the cermony. We are casual, nontraditional & not into the all inclusive resort feel. We will have about 20 guests max. We started looking into Belize, Viequez Isl. PR & Jamaica, but Jamaica seems very crowded. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Hi Kimberly. I am also living in Chicago, and, for the most part, in the same boat as you. I haven't nailed down a location or date yet. We were aiming for April, but now we're thinking June. We're looking into Cabo, or Puerto Vallarta - and specifically in the the PV area, we're looking at Las Caletas, but haven't booked anything yet. It's basically a beach only accessible by boat, so it's very private. The weddings are hosted by Vallarta Adventures, and they also do many of the excursions that you mention (snorkling, scuba, etc.). Check out: http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/g...s/wedding.html

For the more unique wedding, since you seem to be an adventure-seeker, they also offer other types of weddings as well. http://www.adventureweddingspv.com/w...adventures.htm

Good luck with your planning!

Welcome Kimberly!

Check out this little place in Todos Santos, MX called the Alegria Inn. www.alegriainn.net

Their weddings are supposed to be really cool for a small group- we looked into it but our group was just too big!

Todos Santos is a little artist enclave on the Baja California coast that has world class surfing nearby. In fact, check out the Pescadero Surf Camp nearby which might be a fun activity for you and your guests. We are looking into it for our honeymoon.

Happy planning!

Jennifer

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
