Awkward thank you speech

Recommended Posts

I too had a little laugh at that!  Its so true.

I would just keep it generic, not mention any names and just say thank you.  They are travelling to be there for your special day, so I guess you have to thank them whether or not you feel they deserve it.

I think that fact that your bridal party is coming to a destination wedding is huge and deserves a huge thank you. Honestly, the only thing I expect my bridal party to do is show up and I will be happy. If others offer help or do special things than thats wonderful but I think they all deserver a huge thank you regardless. You chose these people for a reason and they are going to be there for you standing beside you supporting you on your big day, which is what you asked them to do. So thats what I would thank them all for.

I agree with the other posters that I know where you are coming from, but I think you should focus on why you asked them to be in your wedding.  Remember all the things they've done for you in the past and thank them for standing by your side on such an important day.

Unfortunately, sometimes weddings don't bring out the best in our friends.

Agreed!  They are traveling a long ways to be there for you!  But I am sure we can all relate that not everyone pulls their weight when it comes to the wedding.  But I think it still speaks volumes that they are even coming!

I am actually dreading thanking my dad and his heinous wife!  But unfortunately it has to be done!  (but it will be short and sweet)  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
