Calling all 2012 Brides @ Azul Beach Hotel in Puerto Morelos!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I'm hoping to hear and share some creative ideas for ABH and also hear about your experience with vendors/wedding coordinators, etc.  We are getting married on 5/5/12 - Very excited!

We are getting married at 4PM, so we have plenty of time to party with our guests later - any other ABH brides select that time and were okay with it?  Our wedding coordinator insists it won't be. I'm still weighing the pros and cons.

I read some previous posts about bringing table runners and sheers.  I can't get over spending $300 for two colored sheers!  Craziness.  :)  I might look into bringing chair bows too.

Make-up and hair recommendations?  I've got to leave this to the professionals.

Those who are doing favors, do you plan on shipping them down ahead of time?

Happy planning!

Hi Krissy!

i too am getting married at ABH on 4/7/12. Our ceremony time is at 5pm. At first I was worried that we wouldn't have enough sunlight. But we are have enough time I believe the sun goes down at 7ish. Very exciting time is going by so quick.

For hair and make up I'm using MVP makeup. We have other vendors we are using. Those outside vendor fees are no fun :(. pm me and we can chat and discuss :). Also there is an ABH section check it out.

Hi!!

I'm getting married 5/27/12 at Azul Beach!! Just got out of the 200's today! 199 days to go!!

My ceremony is at 4pm too, but my reception doesnt start until 6pm.. still not sure about what my guests will do for the 2 hour intermission..I'm tempted to make my ceremony 5pm but don't want to lose sunlight for pictures.

Thanks ladies!  I'll have to check out MVP.  :)  I hope we will be okay with a 4pm - good point about the sunlight.

I just talked to my travel agent and the Deluxe rooms are already sold out for the weekend of May 5th!  I'm kinda freaking out, but sent a message out to all my guests who haven't booked yet.

May brides, def tell your guests to get those reservations in asap!

Hi ladies! It's good to see a new thread for 2012 brides.  I'm set for March 9th at 4pm.  A few of my friends are lagging on booking but I just thank goodness that I blocked out a section of rooms.  Were expecting about 24 people and 2 babies and are just planning on doing the pearl package.  Out of curiosity how many guests do you other brides have coming and what package are you purchasing? Less than 3 months away!!!!!

Hi Emma!

Our wedding is April 7, 2012 we have 88 guests. Hopefully this will be our final count. We blocked 25 rooms but have some guests who went though the hotel. So we have a few more.  Excited that it's less than 4 months away but now I'm freaking out. I went on a site visit months ago to MX to check out hotels but never visited AB. I just got a new wc Elizabeth who is very helpful. I used to have Grace but wasn't too happy with her. Guess everything happens for a reason because she no longer works there. I'm getting nervous of the size of my group and where we can host the reception. Elizabeth is now saying I may want to look into the ballroom. I know they just finished it but don't know it is. She sent me pictures but I have so many more questions.

I guess when you have a Dw nothing is set in stone. How's everyone's planning going?

Hey gals!

We have about 48 guests and 6 kids confirmed - a few are lagging (of course!)  All the Deluxe rooms are sold out already for the May 5th weekend, so after a few days of stress and reminder emails, I told myself I have to stop caring if people book or not.  :)  (I found out there is a wedding booked on the 4th and 6th.)

Maritza, my travel agent just got back from a visit to AB and reported back that she couldn't have been more pleased with the entire place - accommodations, staff, food, safety, upscale standards.  Music to my ears considering we didn't visit either.  The ballroom looks gorgeous from the photos, and given the fact that you are bringing 88 people to the resort, I'm sure they will bend over backwards for you when you arrive.

Did you gals see photos of the Skyview Terrace on the main Azul Beach thread from 2011?  Looks like another option for the reception besides the beach that was just finished.  I'm thinking of checking it out when we go down there.  From the videos, it looks crazy windy on the beach.  Either way, its paradise, so I will be in heaven.

How is everyone getting favors down there?

Maritza...I am so glad that I got on this site!! I have been reading other fourms and just ran across this one today.  I too had Grace and was wondering why I have been getting no responses from her!!! Good to know that she is gone (kinda mean to say but really) Anyways, how did you find out and find a new WC.  I haven't heard from anyone in a couple of weeks! Also, I booked our menu and our reception location.  Any suggestions on what to do next? Our date is June 8 2012!!! Still a ways away, but I teach and it would be nice to get some stuff done over Christmas break!!

***Any other advice from others would be greatly appreciated :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
