What to do on a Site Visit??

Recommended Posts

Like I posted earlier, I am going on a last minute site visit to Playa Fiesta (we leave next Friday!)! I am very excited to see the resort, but have no clue what else I should do when I am there to help prepare for the wedding?? What do I bring? What questions do I ask? This will be the only time I am there before the wedding, and don't want to forget anything!

For the girls that have visited their wedding location before, what did you do?

TIA!! Jackie

I used to do site visits for work all the time. basically it's just a trip to see everything and anything you want and make sure the space would work out for your purposes. It's also a time to ask ANY questions you may have.

For example you could find out what their standard decorations are, what they charge for upgraded decor and what options you have, the logistics of getting from your room to the ceremony site, what's options you have for dinner/drinks/cocktail hour, etc.

Also, they should pamper the heck out of you! And don't feel silly asking for anything. Their service on the site inspection should be a good indication of the service they will provide on the wedding day.

My site visit is in two weeks this is what I'm planning:

Meet with WC

Look at 5-6 venues for wedding location

Try out restaurants within the hotel (Dreams) and see where we could have a welcome reception, etc.

Look at venues for rehersal dinner and hopefully do some tastings

Check out the golf courses

Find someone to do my hair/makeup

Pick up some maps and info pamphlets

Take pics for gift to BM's (I'm taking scenic pics of Cabo, matting and framing them, probably)

Look at the honeymoon suite at Dreams (hope they have one!)

Check out a hotel to honeymoon at for a few days after the wedding (we're thinking One&Only)

I think that's it...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
