Iron on Transfer OOT Bags

Recommended Posts

This is one project I have been putting off just because it seemed like it was going to take forever and be a lot of work. I was wrong.  I followed the directions found here:

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/57860/diy-tips-from-a-designer-iron-on-transfers

There were only a few steps I had to tweak so it worked properly.

- I tried to flip my image, but when It printed it printed the wrong way.  I figured out that when I selected Tshirt transfer on my printer (Canon printer) that it automatically flipped the image for me.

-I didn't use as long of a time to transfer the images onto the bags.  I only used about 75 seconds per transfer.  The first couple I did I used about double that time and it turned a bit yellow, I'm assuming it was starting to burn a bit.

-I used a shelf from a bookcase (upside down) and covered it with a pillow case.  I placed that on my kitchen table.  (I didn't want to burn my kitchen table)

If I could redo it:

-I would place something, maybe a pillowcase, in the bag.  I found that some of the bags the transfer kind of stuck to the opposite side of the bag.  That may be because I wasn't using super high quality bags.

-I would color my monogram completely with color so that there was no white areas in it.  This way you won't get the glossy, yellowy glue looking space.

I'm still happy with the results.I was really surprised that I didn't ruin any bags, I was prepared to ruin a couple.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
