2013 Melia Caribe Tropical Brides

Recommended Posts

I just got married here last Friday and it was truly amazing!

I paid for my photographers to come down and the resort had no problem because they were friends of mine.

Here is a sneak peak from them.  If you guys have any questions, I am more than happy to help!

This entire thread was so helpful guys! Wondering... If we wanted to have the wedding on cite at melia what would the cost be to JUST have the ceremony there and then head to jellyfish ? More cost effective to have wedding AND reception at jellyfish? I watched a few vids of this place tonight and love the set up, but wonder if we will end up paying loads more to have a wedding at melia then reception at jellyfish! I also wrote in the jellyfish thread that I'd love to see costs for a reception there; if any of you have the 2013/14 costs for jellyfish plz PM me?! Finally, if we had our photographers coming with us as guests, we would bypass that $1000 copywright fee for melia and jellyfish right ??

Hello MrsShoreytobe

We brought our photographers down and since they were included in our guest list they did not have to pay a copy write fee.  I even brought the email with me to say that they were our allowed our own photographers just in case we may have a problem and they honestly did not care at all.

We did everything (wedding, dinner and party) at the resort and it was awesome.  I did see the Jellyfish restaurant and you can literally walk to the restaurant from the beach side in 5min.  It's right next door to the resort.

If you were to do the wedding at the resort and everything else at the Jelly Fish.....Basic Symbolic Wedding $894 (includes 12 people) each guest on top of that is $24 (includes champagne and it also includes dinner if you were to have it at the resort.)

Also check out this facebook page of upcoming and past brides.  It is very helpful.  Melia Caribe Tropical Brides!!!

Hope that helps.

Yay November Brides! :) @Mrs.Shoreytobe I was back and forth but finally decided to have the symbolic ceremony at the Melia beach gazebo and then doing the reception at the jellyfish...but it's gonna cost me more to do it that way not sure exactly how much since I don't have a final count of guests yet. I decided to do this option since I did not want to actually get married on the beach which is the only option at jellyfish and when looking into the Melia I couldn't decide on which reception area I liked. I actually found jellyfish on one of these blogs and when I saw it fell in love...but in the end I chose both.

That fee is crazy...I did contact the WC and was told my other option was to book a three nights stay for the photographer...I feel like its a scam
I'm getting married on November 20th! Not sure if u found a photographer or not but I'm bringing down my own! He's amazing and very reputable. We arrive early on nov 16th, maybe he can shoot your wedding too if you haven't found anyone yet ?

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if the Melia would I be able to have access to the Paradisus Palma (which is right next door- they are sister hotels)?

The reason I am asking is the I am getting married next year and will be staying at Paradisus for my Honeymoon, but my family and friends will be staying next door to the Melia. I would like to go over and see my kids and family, but not sure if I would be able to.

Can anyone share some insight! feedback.gif

~Thanks~

Hi everyone, I'm trying to book my wedding at Melia but am having trouble getting it confirmed.  I've tried emailing, calling, filling out their form online...

How did you book your wedding?  Is there an email address for booking weddings?

Thanks a lot!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
