February Airfare to Mexico

Recommended Posts

Ok, not sure if anyone can help me with this but we still haven't purchased our airfare for our wedding to Mexico in February.  Rates have been super high but just wondering if anyone has found really great deals out there?  It is so hard to know when to purchase tickets because prices could go down but they could just as easily go up instead.  So frustrating!  Thanks!

Totally understand your frustration. Where do you go to look for your airfare? If you look on Kayak.com they have a fare trend chart and such so you can kinda make a better "plan" on when to buy airfare. It's difficult though even with that because it goes up and down like a yo-yo sometimes. So we pretty much monitored the site until we saw some fares that were really reasonable; we actually bought our tickets in early August (and we fly out in early November) so I guess that was 3 months in advance. I told my guests to try and purchase tickets at the latest at least 1.5 to 2 months in advance because I noticed it was creeping up.  However, I think it's totally a gamble sometimes. I've also noticed that sometimes airfare goes up right before holidays. But honestly, I've given up trying to make sense out of the fluctuating airfares because there seems to be no rhyme or reason. Good luck!

  • 1 month later...

We haven't purchased our airfare either. Our travel agent said that lots of seats are still available and advised that we purchase this Dec, or wait after the holidays (after Jan 1). If prices don't decrease after holidays, our agent doesn't think prices will decrease and we should book right after holidays.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
