Getting to Cabo from New York City!

Recommended Posts

Hello all -

I have found a beautiful place for my wedding in Cabo and i can already envision myself getting married there.

However, i didn't bother to check how far it is from New York City and someone correct me if i'm wrong but it's 8 hours!

Is that true?

Are there any direct flights from NYC?

Not sure if my family members and friends (with children) will make the trip due to that.

Someone please advise?

Thank you

Congratulations!

I love Los Cabos and will be getting married there in less than a month! I live on Long Island and we are flying out from Newark - nonstop on Continental. I think the flight is about 6 hours or something. There's a time difference as well; they're two hours behind currently. So that probably also accounts for the seemingly 8-hour trip. I'm sure there are non-stop flights from JFK as well.

Good luck and happy planning!

one of our wonderful BDW travel agents can probabaly help you find some great flights for your guests! 6 hours seems like a long flight but just think, once you are there in your tropical paradise it wont matter how long it took!

i really hope it works out for you!

(as a backup, have you looked into riviera maya, on the east coast of mexico? seems like it'd be MUCH closer!)

Congrats!!!

I am getting married in Cabo Feb 2012. I am from Brooklyn, NY and we too are flying out from Newark. They recently changed my flight to a 1 stop in Houston but promised to change it back to a non stop if it becomes available. Unfortunately there is one flight a day, I believe... Also, from the last time I checked Newark is the only one offering nonstop to Cabo.

Good Luck with everything!!!

I'm going through the process myself but if you have any questions let me know, I'll be happy to help where I can!

I'm from NYC and plan to take the direct flight from EWR to Cabo.  I'm getting married in October 2012 and know the direct flights are on Saturday and Sunday. If you call Continental and tell them when you are traveling, they will tell you when the direct flights are running.  I've done the layover, and it's not bad. Lets you stop for lunch msnwink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
