Our wedding party and guests are staying at Mahekal Beach Resorts: http://www.mahekalbeachresort.com

Their coordinator has organized for us to have a welcome dinner there and they've reserved a block of rooms for us at a discounted group rate. The location is also amazing, right on the beach :)

PM me if you'd like the contact info for their coordinator, will be glad to forward it to you.

Thanks! She had gotten me a great price, but by the time we got back to making a contract, that cake lady took a new job and will be working for a hotel now? Maybe she is taking her existing orders, but not new ones.

Maria has located another person in Playa for me, however, I don't have the prices yet. She is working on getting them now. I got prices from a lady in Cancun, but her rates per slice are a bit outrageous and her transportation fee is ridiculous too...

Thanks for the suggestions.  I think my guests are interested in an all inclusive resort.  We are trying to keep the costs for our guests to a minimum.. in hopes of more guests being able to come! We have looked at iberostar, barcelo, dreams riviera cancun, now sapphire and now jade.  We haven't decided just yet.

Have you girls looked at the contract with the Grand Coral Beach Club?  I am concerned because the contract that I am looking over right now has a sentence about no fireworks and no music past 68 db.  I have asked around and the music of 68db is not loud at all.  Do you know anything about this?

Also, I have no idea about Cakes yet, all I know is that I met with some wedding coordinators at some of the chain hotels and their cake prices were crazy!  I got a quote from a bakery for $395 for a cake for 100 ppl.. Is that a competitive price? I'm not that far along on my research yet.

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
