So finally back for a couple weeks, got pro pics and I am excited to write my planning journal! Thank you to everyone off this site who shared templates and ideas. As a wedding planner I knew exactly what I wanted and without a DIY bone in my body ebay, etsy and other brides from this site were PERFECT for my destination wedding. I hate anything DIY. I hate going to Michaels and searching through bins and I would much rather pay someone to do it for me :) I love planning other weddings and I love my job, I just really didn't want to do it for my own.. crazy right?

 

So I'll get started.. most of my stuff was made on Etsy or purchased from a store. I will be happy to share sellers if you pm me!

 

How we met and our engagement session..

We actually met in college 10 years ago :) I was partying too much so I was forced to go home and finish school near where I grew up, haha. So we actually lost contact for 4 years. I had a failed marriage, he a failed engagement and while I was working a wedding for a friend of his we just happen to run into each other again and the rest was history :) We got married here in VA, just the two of us and two kids later after I decided to take time away from work and I started planning my dream wedding..

The Rings.. To make a long story short.. I am very picky and indecisive.. The first set didn't fit my personality, the 2nd set I loved the eternity band but it didn't fit flush next to the engagement ring and it bothered me....  So this was my 3rd and final set, and I love them.

The Resort:

We are regulars at Atlantis in the Bahamas so I wanted something similar to that island but somewhere we had never been. So with a friend who had just gotten married at this resort, I did some research and we found the Gran Bahia Principe. My top reasons: Free food and alcohol and I can bring my own photographer!!

I loooove Amsale so I knew I wanted her Bijou dress but HATE strapless dresses (thanks to the DD's) so I took Amsale dresses and added the top to my favorite Bijou..

Decor/Welcome Bags/Stationary:

We had a professional make our monograms that went on a few of our wedding items and items in the welcome bags.

Pre-Travel Packs.. We sent everyone who was coming a Jamaica Tourism Book, 2 luggage tags each and a brochure I made on VistaPrint.

Everyone was already booked from our STD's so we didn't have to send out invites. So we took a gorgeous invite I love and turned it into welcome packets that went in each bag. It was a thank you card on the left and the weekend itinerary on the right.

Welcome Bags... Each person got: Beach bag, beach towel, 2 washclothes, snacks, 2 stadium cups, aluminum water bottle, oh shit kit.

Gifts:

My attendants got: Tiffany Starfish earrings, tank tops, mug from my favorite blog website, champagne flute, compact mirror.

The guys: Armani ties, flasks, Cigars, and NFL shirts with their name on the back.

My dad collects watches so I got him a gorgeous Invicta watch:

YAYAYAY!! I have been waiting oh so patiently!!! LOVE LOVE EVERYTHING!!! You have a beautiful taste for everything!!!

Now the questions... LOL!!!

 

1) Which etsy seller did you buy your mirror compacts from?!?! I am in LOVE!!!

 

AND

 

2) Do you have a picture of your actual reception table with the luminaries on it?!?!?

The seller on etsy for the caricature pic is: caricatures4u, she also has a fb page, I think with the same name.

2. The children's bags were: bodaciousbaby

 

3. The buckets were: jpmoore611 (this seller also did the girls champagne flutes)
 

 

Here is a picture of the tables.. Because it wasn't dark yet when my photog took these you couldn't really tell they had battery operated tea lights under them. But once it got dark outside and we dimmed the lights in the restaurant it looked really pretty.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
