Hello all,

Am interested in your thoughts on not having a dinner reception, rather getting married in the morning and renting a cataraman for the day - we have a number of kids in our party - we were thinking an afternoon of snorkeling and being on the water would be more memorable.  Thoughts?

You know you could do both right?  I myself was thinking about not doing a dinner, and maybe just passed horderves because I hate trying to party on a full stomach.  I went on a catamaran tour at a destintation wedding in cuba and it was one of the high lights of the vacation, most of the guests were in attendance.  I think thats a pretty solid idea, as long as your ok with not having the traditional dance and dinner.

I am totally ok with not having the traditional dance.  We are having the dinner for everyone the second day that we are there - tuesday (instead of the day of our wedding) as there are 60 guests so it will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet.  Our wedding is on the saturday and we opted for renting a catamaran that will leave at 3-7.  We will serve drinks and food.  Everyone can come back and do as they wish.  It is a second wedding for both of us so we would rather do something unique and fun for everyone.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
