Hi Ladies,

There is always something for folks to complain about when it comes to weddings, but now I am starting to get complaints

(especially from FI family) from people about how much it cost to come to the resort. Has anyone else dealt with this or dealing with this now?

Yea, so did I. I passed up my original plans of Moon Dance Villas in Negril Jamaica for 11-11-11, to change it to St. Augustine, Florida for 11-12-11 only to get back to my original feeling. I would have been better prepared because I started planning 2009 only to be doing things within 4 months, but IM HAPPY so it doesn't matter who and who doesn't come.

Even if they aren't happy, what makes them think that we WANT to hear it.  You aren't coming, the show will continue, sorry if I didn't take a sec to shed a tear for you.

Honestly, I wish I would have just eloped.  If I would have known the disappointment Id be feeling I would have NEVER sent over 100+ invites.  All I can help to think now is, "oh well"!!!  And this just really does go to show is that all people care about with a wedding is the party afterwards.  Its not all just my opinion any more... unfortunately, my friends & family verify this daily for me.  I feel your pain!

Yes we originally had a guest list of 135 people when I decided to accommodate others and have a stateside wedding.  Now we have 16 people including myself and the groom. And I will continue to say, there are no regrets and no tears from this bride.  (maybe I am just mean and selfish, yet I think this one day in my life I have the right to be!)

We have 16 total as well... majority of his family.  I wish I didnt have any regrets, but I do regret not elolping.  The money alone saved from the expense of invitations could have been used on an excursion for us.  Call that selfish, and no doubt my invitations were gorgeous, but what a waste!!!  Ugh.  I'm with you, no tears... it's YOUR day!

Ours is opposite, majority of our guest are my friends and family, no one from his side.  It was supposed to be his brother & cousin as his bestmen, yet as of today they have yet to apply for passports (no sweat from me, idc).  Trust me when I say I believe you, we spent money on STD for our Florida wedding.  We paid a deposit last August for the villas in Jamaica, lost that. Paid a deposit for the golf course in Florida, lost that

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
