Dreams Cancun 2013 Destination Wedding Brides

Nurse pin I understand completely I had those same questions! Here is my opinion.... 1. I didn't do the cocktail hour and it isn't necessary the guests can go into the club behind the gazeebo for refreshments and snacks. We didn't even have to tell them where to go. Also many of our guests ( we had 84) stayed at the gazeebo taking pictures which I recommend. It is beautiful. So do not worry about the cocktail hour. 2. The hair is 50.00 and the make up is 50.00. The ladies at the salon are very good and have a lot of experience. If you have a package the hair and makeup are included. You will also recieve a discount on all of your other services + a couples massaage which is worth it. I do recommend getting a trial before your wedding at least for your hair. It will help relieve a lot of stress. The spa staff is excellent and super friendly! 3. We used the dj and the light up dance floor it was 699.00 for the whole night (that is if your reception is longer there is no extra charge for the floor). We loved the dj that worked with us. He was really professional and sat down with us to discuss the music we wanted for everything and everyone really loved it. Te dance floor also was amazing. We had our reception on the Caribe beach at night and because it is dark there the dance floor helped to light the reception. Plus all the kids and drunk people loved it lol! 4. Adventure photography is great! We used them and upgraded to the full day package for 999.00. It was worth it. They captured the whole day and were super friendly. It was easy to work with them because they are at the resort all the time and can answer all of your questions. I posted my pictures above if you want to take a look at them. Overall, we were so happy with the wedding and even though there was stress at the end of the day seeing our guests having fun, celebrating in a beautiful location and marrying the person of your dreams it's just all worth it! Just trust your planner she will take care of the details once you get there!

Thanks so much for the information!  Sounds like you guys had beautiful and fantastic weddings!

For the DJ, was the $699 for the lighted dancefloor and DJ services?  howe many hours?  who did you use?

Is a sound system necessary for the ceremony music?

If they let you swap, I may do a package.

Cant wait to seepics!

I know nothing about the DJ but from what we researched it was alot hire than that . We were told 198.00 for equipment and DJ for the Ceremony and then 699.00 for the DJ and his equipment for the reception..... So not to sure what went wrong there

Again we did have the ultimate pkg.

It is very windy by the Gazebo so if you want anyone to hear anything that is being said you do need it.

I have heard of a lot of brides bring there I Pod and docking station and have a friend set up the music.

We were told because we brought our own equipment that it would be 100.00 for the use of electricity but we didnt get charged at the end .

They will let you change out some things for a good swap but not others.

For example we did not really want the 3 piece mexican band as it was approx. 600.00 , so we asked to swap for extra pictures and they where going to give us approx 150.00 in trade which didnt sit while with me so we had the band while we made our own reception after the wedding and had them come up to the deck at the tower right close to the gazebo and it was very nice with the bar 10 steps away and place to sit and chat while the bride and groom went for photos.

I had asked if we could do this with our wedding planner Claudia and she said no as it is a common area, she left to get the reception on the beach started and we just took over that space and told the tro band to come up onto the deck and they did , no problem.

Hello, I'm trying to decided between the Palace resorts and Dreams Cancun Im really impressed with the incentives the palace resorts gives you if you meet the qualifying room... Can anyone tell me if dreams cancun gives any type of group wedding special accommodations? Also how much is it to do private functions at the resort?

Hi Ladies,

Just had my wedding a couple of weeks ago.  I absolutely loved it.  Below is the link to our slideshow.  We also went with adventure photos.  They did a great job.  We purchased the $1,000 all day package.  I think it was worth it because you get an additional 100 photos,  a photo book.  After your allotted amount, the pictures are $15 each or they offer you a package price for all of them.  We also had the dance floor and the DJ.  It was definitely worth it.  Everyone had so much fun and we didn't have to worry about anything.  We did not have 40 guests, but we paid for 40 at the reception to get the buffet.  It was well worth it.  We only had to pay for the actual guests for the cocktail hour and chair decorations.  When I compared pictures, I noticed that if you have your wedding about 2 hours before sunset, you will have more time to take pictures (with family, friends and more locations).  However, this will be a trade off if you want the sunset in the background.

Good luck planning!  I'd be happy to answer any questions as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
