I sent out 50 and kept one for myself (includes $30 sample): $509
Postage ($1.81 each, yikes!): $90.50

Total damage: $600

Where did you get your invites from?

I spent about $4-5 each (I forget what price we settled on). I think that is on the pricier side but we didn't send out a lot and I fell in love with them once I saw them. If we were inviting like 200 people I may have gone cheaper. Postage for the monogrammed stamps was very inexpensive with hubby's employee discount. I came out just under $200 total.

I got them from Now & Forever - Contemporary Wedding Invitations and Accessories

these start at 285.00 but once you order extra envelopes, a colored ink, extra reception cards (one to write TA's info on, and one to let people know to book asap if they want to come because the resort fills quickly) I was up to almost 500 bucks. UGH I was just so sick of thinking about it I orderd them. They were really nich though and people really did like them, but do beware mine cost me almost a dollar postage for each one maybe 90 something cents.

That's how I'm starting to feel. I always thought invites would be expensive so I gave myself a budget of $1000 for them. Yes, I know that's a lot of $$$!!!

Well, I got a quote today for $1200 for 75 invites. That does however include calligraphy hand written on the outer and inner envelopes, an extra RSVP card for hotel/flight info and an extra Reception card for the Welcome Dinner. This also includes menu cards and thank you cards. But after seeing what everyone else paid, I think I'm going to be sick. I wish I was good at DIY projects.

Any bored ladies out there looking for a side gig in invitation making?

The problem is, the price most of us paid was just cost only for the materials. By the time we charge you even $20 an hour, we'd be up to what you're looking at paying for pro invites. Know what I mean? Probably the cheapest you'd be able to get me to do what I just did for mine would be like $10-12 each.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
