DC/VA/MD girls. Where did you buy your wedding dress?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I just went looking yesterday at Betsy Robinson Bridal out in Baltimore. However there was nothing there for less than $1,000. I also plan to check out Katherine's of Old Town (Alexandria), Rizik in downtown DC, and Nikki's Creations in Greenbelt, MD (just for proximity.)

I'm not sure about the price points for any of these places, but picked them because they carry some of the designers that interest me. Where have you looked?

I have been to David's Bridal and a Jeanettes Boutique in Manassas. I plan on going to Katherine's in Old Town and I have also heard great things about Leesburg Bridal so I hope to get out that way soon.

A friend recommended a place in B'More called Stellas. Have you heard of it?

I found the dress I ended up buying at Jeanettes (though I bought it at netbride.com). The other places I liked were Nicole Miller in Tysons Galleria and another shop I cant remember the name but it was in the fancy part (Kentlands?) of Gaithersburg. Maybe it started with a P? Sorry I am not much help, I live in the city so I get lost when I go to the 'burbs!

I had a pretty bad experience at I Do I Do but they did have a huge selection. I also went to a place maybe called Marie's in Old Town that was okay.

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions. I will have to try some of them out. I am just afraid to go into the stores that have expensive dresses because I don't want to fall in love with one and have that debate with myself! :) But finding a dress online for cheaper than the stores is a great option.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
