We are on the verge of booking with Beach Palace for July 2014.  We would love any feedback current or past brides have about their group rate contracts as well as the wedding contract.  My brother-in-law who is a lawyer read over the paperwork and stated they were both very poorly written.  I would love any feedback so we can feel more confident in our decision to sign and be officially booked.

Also, we are looking for suggestions for photographers for our wedding.

Which items are worth spending our money on and which items would you pass on?

Do we need a dance floor if we are getting married on the sky terrace and reception on the sky deck?  We are anticipating 50-70 guests.

Is the food a buffet or is it a plated meal for the reception?

If we exceed 30 people will we still receive the perks for the 75 room nights (i.e. reception, cocktail hour, rehearsal dinner, etc)?

What is the group rate pricing you all have received for July 2014?

Suggest us upgrading to concierge level or just stick with superior deluxe ocean view for us?

Did your guests have any trouble using their resort credit?

    Hey @esahunnie

Great chatting with you last night!

Here are some of the photographers we talked about:

www.elizabethmedina.com  <---- go to her blog to check out her weddings, she is amazing!

www.delsolphotography.com   <----- you can search del sol's site for beach palace and look at photos from other weddings    there to get an idea of what the sky deck and reception space looks like. They are also awesome and have done a lot of BP weddings.

www.saraniweddings.com  <---- sarani is a BP approved photographer, also does video, you can get a package with both.

    Florists:

www.vanessajaimes.com  <---- who I am using after i spied her arrangements she did for a del sol bride married at BP

www.mayafloral.com  <---- I have heard a lot of brides use Marvin

The resort also has a florist they coordinate with you, and they can do a lot, just depends on what you are looking for.

I will email you the brochure from Zuniga, who is the rental company for lighting, and any other rentals if you don't want to use the Colin Cowie Collection. Zuniga also has a florist they work with that you can use and you won't have to pay the outside vendor fee.

Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

    Lindsey

Hi Everyone! I am new to this forum, and I just started to plan for my wedding in August 2014 at BP. I was so happy to find this topic. I have read a lot of the replies. However, I haven't got an idea of how everyone handled transportation from and to the airport. Do you take bus, taxi, hire a van for your guests, or BP provided a shuttle for you?

    Hi @yancn

    Congrats!!!!

Are you using a travel agent to handle your group block and guests bookings for you? My TA is coordinating all transfers for our guests. It is included in our group pricing. BP does not have a shuttle, so either you would need to find a way to coordinate this or your guests would need to pay for a taxi etc, which could be chaotic and stressful for you to coordinate.

If you don't have a TA yet, let me know! A lot of us on this forum have Wendy Hicks from Wright Travel (owners of this site) and she is AMAZING. I would be happy to give you her info.

I and many others would probably second my advice to for sure get a TA, but not just any TA, one that specializes in Destination Weddings.

    Good luck!  :)

      Hello,

The wedding contract and group booking includes free transportation services.  Your coordinator will provide you with a spread sheet that you need to fill out with everyone's flight information.  It's a very simple and easy process!

OMG! Thank you so much @Linds1204 @Heyily!!

I am so grad that I asked, because I asked my TA specifically, and she said she could give me a link, where I can book the vehicles for my guests. That could easily cost me a few hundreds!!

Does anyone have Elizabeth as their wedding coordinator? I've been emailing her for the last week and I haven't had a response. She is usually very quick on getting back to me.

On another note, before I signed my contract, RocĂo had mentioned that if I was to reach my 75 room nights our stay gets credited and that we can use that credit on additional wedding services. Now that I'm close to my nights, Elizabeth told me that they no longer had that as an option and that they used to do that but it didn't apply for 2014. I officially signed my contract in Late October of 2013 if any changes were to be made, I would have thought they would have already changed that on my policy.
Has any other bride had this happened?

      Thank you so much! :)
