Exciting! We got married there December 15, 2015 and had a great wedding week. We had our ceremony on the sky deck and our reception at the sky bar. It was beautiful! :)

Congrats!! If you need any tips, feel free to read through my planning thread. I also added a full review of my wedding (skip to the last few 5-10 pages of my thread). My thread link is in my signature below :)

Did you use dreamart photography? I am just starting the planning phase but I have heard mixed reviews on photography from the resort. Photography would probably be one of the top things on my priority list. But I also do not want to pay an arm and a leg for photography and then have to pay vendor fee on top of that if the resort has good photographers that do not need a vendor fee. Do you happen to have any price lists still for anything? I know the prices will probably be higher this year but just to get a rough estimate. Thanks for everything!

I'm planning my wedding for summer 2017, and was curious if anyone knows how much set up for reception decor is if you bring your own? It would be pretty simple for us, just a centerpiece to place down, and a few candles per table. Does anyone have experience with this?

If you do a search for the thread of perianjay you'll find a ton of useful details and suggestions. I know she took a lot of her own decor and her thread is well worth reading. She had a gorgeous wedding just a few months ago. It's the best recent thread to read for info.

Just do a search up top for Perianjay Beach Palace thread. It's a long one but totally worth reading through!

Good luck and happy planning!

Hello fellow Palace brides,

Quick questions for those of you who chose an outside vendor for anything (photographer, flowers, etc.):

How to avoid the 800$USD vendor fee????

I have read that some were able to simply get a day pass for the photographer, but HOW? Won't the hotel notice that you have a photographer at your wedding? The wedding coordinator is asking me who will be my photographer, can I simply say that I won't have a professional photographer (that friends will be taking pictures or something) and that I have a guest coming from outside the resort and it will work??

Wedding is in less than 3 weeks so any quick reply will be much appreciated!

Thank you!!

@@Cancun2016 I'd say that it's very risky. Chances are that your coordinator will be able to tell that it's a professional photographer and not a friend, they are pretty knowledgeable and have done many weddings - they are also very present during the day of.. my coordinator was around for the entire wedding. You can maybe get around it with flowers, but honestly, I don't think you can with a photographer. I tried to do the same thing, but in the end I decided it wasn't worth the risk of anything going wrong on my wedding day.

@@Cancun2016 I brought an outside photographer and wasn't charged an outside vendor fee. However, my photographers stayed at the Hotel for 4 nights, they were on my room block list, and I even had seats for them at the reception (they didn't use them, but I thought it made it seem like they were actual wedding guests... ha!).  I had asked about this months in advance of my wedding, and was told that I would be charged a $400 fee even though they were staying at the hotel. I thought that was really dumb, but I was prepared to pay the $400 if necessary.  I think the only reason I wasn't charged the $400 may have been because they were staying at the hotel (and maybe because my wedding coordinator was amazing?).

I think you could try to get away with buying the photographer a day pass only, but I would be prepared to pay the $800 just in case.  You don't want to get in an argument with your wedding coordinator on your wedding day... that could really ruin the mood!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
