Beach Palace Cancun Brides

Hi YossiMeyer,

Thank you so much for replying and apologies for the delay- i have been away.

Not long for you now- so exciting!!

I did think about getting in touch with a weddings abroad site but wondered if they would be much help, the only reason i considered it was to give someone else the stress of chasing the wedding coordinators etc.

If you have any documents you have received from BP that you wouldnt mind sending to me that would be fantastic!

Would any of the ladies on here re-consider having their wedding at Beach Palace due to the terrible communication response times from the coordinators and the stress involved?

I might be in a fantasy land but i would like to enjoy the whole wedding planning experience rather than getting to the big day and being so stressed im glad for it to be over!

Many thanks xx

Hi @ShellLen

Congrats!!!

So a couple of things- first, take a deep breath! The planning process for a destination wedding is difficult. I am SUPER TYPE A, so it was really hard for me to have trust during the planning process. But- that is what this forum is for! The creator of Best Destination Wedding was a destination bride in cabo. She was having the same problems we all are/were having, so she created this forum for other brides to connect and help each other! :D

From my experience- planning with any other resort is going to be pretty much an identical experience, maybe worse.

I know this because I planned my wedding TWICE, with 2 different resort chains. My first TA- destinationweddings.com (not to be confused with this forum!) had us booked at a Karisma resort and my wedding coordinator was American and based out of Miami and her response time was actually worse then my Palace coordinator! Long story short, they nearly ruined my wedding. I had to fire them and move my entire wedding 5 months out!! :o

Second- it is in your best interest to have a GREAT destination wedding TA. My new TA that helped my clean up my mess and move my wedding to Beach Palace, was able to get great rates for us, and a TON of perks! Also- anytime I didn't get a response in a couple of days from my wedding coordinator, I just let her know, and I would have a reply by the end of the day! So- I think it would be a great idea for you to talk to someone. You can't get any of the wedding perks and freebies unless all your guests are booked through a single source. Also- it's great to have someone deal with, book and handle all your guests bookings. Trust me, that is the last thing you need to be doing or worrying about. I will PM you to see if you would like to talk to my TA- Wright Travel. They are free :) and amazing! Doesn't hurt to have a little chat and get some information and clarity

Third- special announcement! Ladies I am the new Palace Resorts ambassador! What this means is I will be creating an "Official" forum for each resort which easily organizes ALL the Palace Wedding info and extras into one spot! I will also be available to help you all through the process as you have questions along the way :)

I am working on compiling everything now, and will have the official threads up soon! Hopefully in the next week! In the meantime, I have ALL the info, so let me know what you need and I can send it to you!

Fourth- I did have some wedding and planning anxiety until I arrived at the resort and met with my onsite Wedding Coordinator, Marco. He was awesome! And our wedding was PERFECT! I would not change any thing and would have my wedding at beach palace again in a heartbeat! They knocked it out of the park!!! I actually wish I could have my wedding again, it was that great!!!

So, deep breaths, your wedding is going to amazing!!!!

I will PM you in a sec!

Lindsey

Alright ladies, I have officially 100 nights. I'm so excited and I hope that Beach Palace will work with me, since they had said that I would be able to use my room credit on "additional wedding services". I asked Elizabeth for my invoice so I can see what would be considered " wedding services" so I'm waiting on that.

I can't believe it's so close, any past brides know if I can make  reservations for dinner since I will be having 45 people? or what are my options, since I read it's a first serve basis. My wedding is on a Wednesday, so I asked Elizabeth for a welcome dinner, and I will probably request it on the beach, does anyone know if my choices for food are the same as the wedding or if they have another menu?

So, I'm not to worried about that dinner, but I would like make a little itinerary card for my guests when they arrive and have our   dinner's plan ahead of time but what if the restaurants can't take our large group?

So the 25th is the last day for people to book their hotel rooms and it goes towards our count. Turns out we are nowhere near getting the reception comped for it. At this point I'd be happy just with the complimentary cocktail hour!

A lot of people who were really into going and very excited about it all backed out. Plus quite a few of our guests found much cheaper rates online. I can't blame them for wanting to save $600, can I?

The good news is at least they're staying at the resort so I don't have to worry about the day pass situation. Plus we were budgeting for the reception so it's not going to be a huge monetary blow, although I do like free!!

The crappy part is that now we'll have to pay $50 per room that we blocked that didn't get used :(

@BellRios

Congrats!!! So exciting :D

There is an additional fee to have a cocktail or dinner on the beach, it's per person....either $8 or $12, I can't remember off the top of my head. I would ask your WC. It's for the additional work to set up all the tables etc out there. There also isn't really any light, so you would have to rent some lighting for sure.

If you qualified for free events, I would recommend just having a private event on one of the terraces (they are all beautiful!). The menu's are the same as they are for the wedding, and if you qualified for free, there is no charge, and they even set up some décor for free!

The restaurants are not very big and do not take reservations. We got an exception made one night as we had a group of 10 (and my onsite WC is the one who got the exception for us), but I am uncertain if they will give you a reservation for 45 people as that would literally fill almost the entire restaurant. You are probably better off, again having a private event (if you qualified for the free ones).

We had 3 private events (our group was 77 people, so it was really big). And all the private events were fantastic! They did a great job with food and service, and we just brought a jawbone speaker and streamed music from our ipod, and it worked great! Our rehearsal dinner was "Fiesta!" Themed and we had the Mexican buffet- it was delicious! Especially the shrimp ceviche, everyone raved about it.

Good luck!

Can you tell me which cocktail/event areas charge a extra fee due to location?

I know they say beach areas and handicap access areas, but which ones are those. I only know of. Caribeno terrace.

Also where exactly is the beach wedding ceremony location?

Hi @misbosox

To my knowledge the only area at beach palace that requires an extra fee for setup for cocktail or dinner/reception is the beach. I will look into this for you though.

Weddings on the beach are right in front of the resort, set either a little to the left or a little to the right (so not dead center in front of the hotel). Beach Palace is in the hotel zone, so there are hotels on both sides of it, so there isn't a really private beach location like some of the hotels in the riviera maya have.

I think I may have watched your wedding reception from our balcony!!

Was it on a terrace street side? We saw a big celebration going on below us...that was the night we got engaged and part of the bridal party saw us in the elevator and tried to get us to come party with them lol

Sorry not to be a creeper but just saw your date and thought what a small world...

@travelgal78

Yes! That was our wedding!!!! As long as you are talking about March 8th :)

Congrats! That is so awesome! You should have listened to the bridal party and come down!

Are you going to have a destination wedding as well? Have you decided on anything yet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
