Beach Palace Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am getting married at the Beach Palace in May next year and am in the process of costing / confirming decor, lighting, entertainment etc. I received entertainment options and me and my other half are very keen to have a mariachi band. The cheapest option is a 6 piece band for $1500 (45 mins), this seems very pricey to me. Has anyone used an outside band or been quoted cheaper for a 6 piece? Or would be good to hear thoughts on whether this is expensive as havent hired one before.

thanks in advance for your help! :)

Zoe

Me again with another question...

We would like to extend our reception time and were initially told it would cost $60 per table, per hour. We have now been informed it is $8.50 per person per hour (tables of 8). Not massively different but we are looking to extend by about 4-5 hours so it will make quite a difference. Would appreciate hearing what others have been quoted.

thank you :) x

I also received the quote of $8.50 per person/hour to extend the reception but would find the email with the $60 and copy and paste it back to the WC.

Who are you using for decor? Photography?

I just booked Del Sol and am super excited! The reviews look amazing!

xoxo Jessica

Thanks for your reply Jessica! Annoyingly they just quoted $60 per table over the phone so will probably have to go with the new quote of $8.50.

Not sure on decor yet but was going to go with the in house photographers DreamArt. I see quite a few brides have gone with Del Sol, are Del Sol more reasonable or have better photos?

All very exciting!! Xx

I don't have advice specific to your resort, but if you have an email /quote in writing saying $60/table I would hold them to that. Simply reply to THAT email when extending your time, and give them your total expense (ie: we would like to extend our reception by 4 hours for all 4 tables at $60/table for a total of $960. Thank you)

Thanks for your advice, sadly it was only confirmed at that price over the phone so I will question it but may have to accept the $8.50 pp price. Thanks again! X

@@zoeknight20 and @@FutureMrsGarcia double check your wedding contract to see what they quoted you to extend your reception. Mine says an additional $65USD for additional hour of staff. Hopefully it will say $60 there for you. I'm a moon palace bride but it should be the same for all palace brides right?

Hi ladies

I just posted Part 3 of my review which deals with extending the reception, offsite coordinator, Zuniga, etc.

Link is here in my planning thread:

This is what I wrote about extending.  We paid $60/table to extend per hour (2014 price?) and we thought it was worth it:

Beach Palace gives you a 3 hour cocktail + reception - this was way too short for us.  So we paid extra to extend our reception by 4 hours.  They quoted us at $60/table per hour to extend and we paid an extra $960 total which in our books was well worth it.  I think they messed up a bit because originally it's supposed to be 8 people per table but we had 10 at each + our head table.  This was lower than what I had estimated - we had calculated one more table and thought we'd be paying for 5 tables (40 adults).  Obviously I didn't question this :).  We are really glad we extended our reception because it gave made our reception feel like the wedding receptions we were used to going to at home.  I know we could have moved over to the public sports bar, but we liked having the privacy, DJ and open bar and lighting, etc.  One importnat thing for my husband and I is that we still wanted to maintain certain traditions and have our wedding feel like a wedding even though it was destination.  That's why we decided to keep things like entrances, speeches, seating plans, the first dance, etc.  It also really distinguished our wedding from our other private events.

@ - Thanks!  We actually went with the Complimentary ceremony and I just added my own decorations.  If you look at my signature, click on part 2 of my review and you can see pics

I'm a bit cheap and didn't want to pay thousands for the ceremony though the collections are beautiful :)

@@zoeknight20  I reviewed my wedding contract and it says that they charge $65/table per hour to extend private events. This actually works out to $8.12 per guest. This may seem like a minor difference but we are planning on 80 guests and extending our reception 4 hours so it will come out to save us hundreds of dollars. I emailed my WC with this info so hopefully the change will be honored. I would review your contract and see if it says the same!

To all the palace brides I have to give rave reviews about working with Latin Asia Cancun for my decor so far! I researched them independently online and on Pinterest and fell in love with their work and THEN found out they are a Palace preferred vendor. They provide all decor from flowers, furniture, lighting, centerpieces etc. The communication thus far has been flawless and the options they have put together for me look great!  :)

@@FutureMrsGarcia I'm so glad you found it on your contract and it will save you money! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they honour it. I don't see why they wouldn't, it's a contract they drafted!

And I agree with you about LatinAsia. I'm also going with them and they're so easy to communicate with, very prompt. They have great vision and try to work with your budget. I'm just finalizing my contact with them, so excited!

thank you for your kind reply, I will double check my contract however I dont recall any mention of extension prices - perhaps I have missed this (fingers crossed!) You are right though, all the little amounts soon add up.

I will also check out Latin Asia Cancun, how did you find out they are a preferred Palace vendor? Is there a list anywhere as I have just been going off the vendor catalogues they have sent me so far.

thanks for the advice - this is so helpful! x

@@kather2008 (or anyone else who can answer this :) ) I will also be having my cocktail hour and reception on the Palenque terrace. Can you tell me what lighting and decor options you chose for your reception? We only have about 25 guests so I want to much sure we have the right amount of lighting and make good use of the space.

Thanks!

@@zoeknight20 I found mine under the section "Additional Costs" and "Private events". Hopefully it is in the same section on your contract!

So my WC from Palace ONLY told me about Zuniga for decor but I researched Latin Asia independently and then when I asked she told me they were a preferred vendor. It seems like they want people to work with Zuniga but there are other options

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
