Hi Ladies,

Can anyone tell me about how much your wedding guests are having to pay for their rooms per night? I have a travel agent and it really seems to me that she may not be providing us with good pricing. I would think there would be at least a slight discount considering the number of rooms we are booking. Thanks for your help!

Just emailed you @@maria143

Shop around for travel agents, I got quotes from about 6. I am using Wright Travel Agency, they gave me the best rates. Some try to get you saying transportation is included, but it can be like 80-100 dollars extra per person.. we paid about 100 round trip to Playa del carmen per car. I wouldn't pay more than $60 round trip per vehicle for a cancun transfer

Hi everyone, I am currently trying to decide between Beach Palace resort and another (not a Palace resort-- Azul Fives) to book my wedding. I requested more information through the Palace website and got an email back from one of the coordinators. Problem is, they keep sending me the same PDF file that i can already see on their webpage and i need something with more detail! At this point, i love both resorts but I'm feeling its going to come down to... which one will save me money? Can one of you ladies please send me their catalog? or whatever you are working off of to know the pricing for everything. I want to compare side by side and see which one will fit my needs best.

Please help!

-Liz

Hello everyone!!

Got married at BP on the 13th of this month and it was wonderful! We had one of Cecilia Dumas' Associated Photographers and I can't wait to see the professional pics. We did have a few hiccups (hair/nail appt wise) and some issues with the hotel in general but as far as the actual wedding and the coordination of it all...perfection!!!

Hi Nicole!

Did you get your wedding photos back yet? I am considering using one Cecilia Dumas' Associated Photographers. How was your experience with them? Did you have to pay the vendor fee, or were you able to purchase day passes for them?

@@LauraM thanks for your response! My prices are a bit higher and after looking around I realize that it is because February is part of Beach Palace's "high season", so they charge more for their rooms in general. I looked around on Expedia and other sites and they are charging a little more than what my TA is quoting, so I guess I just have to suck it up LOL

I am doing the complimentary package and it has been great so far.  I am using Del Sol Photography and only am paying the day pass fee for the two photographers.  I am using JSAV and Zuniga for decor/sound/lighting and since they are preferred vendors there are no fees for them.  I got all my lighting, gobo and sound from JSAV for about $1000 and then I ordered a ton of decor, lighting, lounge area, lounge palms, etc from Zuniga for $1700. I just received my purchase order bill from Beach Palace this week and the total bill is looking like it will be about $3550 after all my extras like day passes, extra reception hours etc (This price also includes the JSAV and Zuniga charge because you pay them through Beach Palace).

I am totally happy with this total price because that literally includes everything for the entire wedding day, reception etc...we are also having a welcome party on the first night and costs for that are also included in that final price.

In addition to all that I am using Maya Floral for bouquets, bountineers, hair flowers and cake flowers for about $400 and he is meeting my bridesmaid in the lobby so there is no fee for him.

So, I dont know if that really helps you at all but I guess it gives a little insight into the other option of just doing the complimentary wedding!  Hope you are able to make a decision and I am sure whatever you choose will be fabulous! :)

@@shmanderz were you able to get away with purchasing day passes for your photographers? I want to use an outside photographer and DJ and I'm really trying to avoid paying $1600 in vendor fees (although I would still save money because the Palace vendors are so expensive). Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone I'm new to the thread! So glad I found you ladies... My wedding is planned June 7th, 2015! Now that I'm about 6 months out I figure it's time for me to start really planning :-). I see many of you referring to the Zuniga package for decor... Would any of you mind emailing that to me Sullivanwedding2015@@gmail.com. Thank you!

Would also love to know the size of the cake. I emailed by WC about that about 2 weeks ago, so I can order my cake-topper, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Does anyone know the minimum guest count needed for a private reception? I've already booked the rooftop pool area and started reserving vendors and such but my guest count looks like it'll only be about 21-25 people. I think I remember reading somewhere that you need at least 25 people for a private function (rather than just an area for a regular dinner in one of the restaurants)?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
