@@chrisandcassie - YES, that's it! Did you have to ask for it or did they just offer it?

Is that you? You look gorgeous! Do you have any more pics of your wedding anywhere?

The complimentary one on the website looks like this, which I don't like:

For those that had buffet menu for over 50 guests what did you like or dislike for food?

Could you substitute?

I've heard some will allow 1-2 items substituted, but other brides have gotten 3 items.

We are thinking of doing BBQ buffet but wondering what exactly is the different salads. Listed is:

Green salad

Tomato salad

Cucumber salad

Corn salad

Potato salad

Are these all different or just toppings for the green salad?

Did anyone get a pasta or shrimp pasta salad???

@@tygrrlily We were asked if we wanted extra sashes on the altar, we specifically said no. To the best of our knowledge, that was the complimentary decor!

We'll have to round up some pictures, but here are a couple that can help visualize our decor:

*The chocolate candy got a little soft. However, the humidity made for the absolutely softest, chewiest Swedish Fish ever!

@misbosox: We went with the Mexican buffet (since we were in Mexico) and all of our guests seemed to absolutely love it! The chicken mole was my favorite.

Oh these are amazing!! Thank you so much. I'm doing my reception at the same place and it helps so much to visualize. Beautiful wedding :)

Did you get all of your decor and candy buffet through Zuniga?

@@tygrrlily All of our decor was through the resort and Zuniga. We used PSAV for the 2 Speaker iPod set up and booked the "Basic Band" for cocktail hour (they were a hit!).

Although it turned out okay, we were a bit disappointed with the candy bar. We lugged down about 20 lbs of candy, separated them into bags, and let our wedding coordinator know how we wanted them mixed. They ended up just doing their own thing. :/

It was actually really neat to see the difference between our reception, and the one that took place two nights prior. With the different decor, it looked like an entirely different venue!

@@chrisandcassie - Thanks for all the info! We just signed our date, and I'm waiting for a WC to get in contact with me so I can start pricing out stuff. I will look into the basic band for sure! Your candy buffet still looked good and I'm sure your guests loved it!

Did you like Zuniga? I have 2 different catelogues of theirs, one labelled 2014 and one labelled nueva, and with completely different prices haha. We want to do something similar to what you had with the strings of lights!

@@chrisandcassie. This is almost the exact same set-up we're going to be having. I have just a few more questions though, is that a sweetheart table you had? We don't want to do a seating chart but if we sit at a round table then we want to sit with our MOH, BM, and parents and were trying to figure out how to manage that. A sweetheart table would solve that problem!

It looks like you got the lounge pieces also? Was that from Zuniga? It looks different from the picture they sent me, but the description they had with the picture didn't match what was in the pic. Make sense?

Who was your onsite WC and when did they initially contact you? Yesterday was our 1 month mark, and Marisol was our off-site coordinator. She is not the best at communicating, so who knows if she'll even hand our stuff over to the on-site coordinator until the last minute. Our final invoice was promised last week and I've since received 2 emails saying it will be sent 'tomorrow'.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
