Thank you so much! Congrats to you as well! I was actually planning on using associate of Cecilia Dumas as well, bc of cost. Maybe I will request Freddy as well. I just talked to my TA and I guess the room nights are comped through them and not BP, so I am glad I got that squared away.

I would love to get away as well but we have all three kids and I don't want to leave the baby yet especially :(

Yeah, I was planning on the spa for hair/makeup until I saw the info about the new airbrush preferred vendor. How many guests are you having? We arrive on the 17th...Is your WC Daniela? Sorry for all the questions, but I am starting to worry about things I didn't want to worry about. Little things like flowers and centerpieces, the reason I planned a destination wedding was so I didn't have to think about things like that, you know?

Anyways, thanks for your response!

Do any of you have any specific BP info about menus, decor, etc. that you can send to me? I'm still locking in my wedding date (hope to have it this week), so haven't been in touch w/ a WC there yet. Thank you!

My offsite coordinator is Marisol and when we did our site visit we met with Rebecca, although they said we wouldn't get our 'official' coordinator until one month prior. Zuniga décor is doing the décor for the reception and I've tried contacting Marvin from Maya Flora (he's highly recommended on here) but I've never received a response.  the 'big' things I have to focus on now are centerpieces, Zuniga was way too expensive and I didn't like theirs, and my bridal bouquet. I know the ceremony comes with a complimentary one but I want something a little more colorful. Even those I'm not too concerned about and will probably just stop by Maya Flora when I'm down there and pick something out. I don't see the point in paying $100+ for a bouquet that I can't even bring back home with me!

I did read about someone having sparklers at their wedding there, and they bought them while in Cancun. How much were they? Are we allowed to bring our own, didn't know if its a customs/flying issue.

So my to do list looks like this:

1. Get dress altered (they told me not to bring it in until 1 month prior)

2. Veil (wasn't planning on one but that's the one thing my fiancé requested)

3. Centerpieces

4. Bouquet

5. Shoes

Not too much to do, but I'm sure a million more things will pop up

How much did Zuniga quote you on florals? I think Maya Floral has a facebook page too - maybe you can try contacting him through them. I think I'm going to go with him too, once I figure out what I want. It looks like there was a bit debate over whether there was a vendor fee or not associated with him. Apparently if he drops off in the lobby, it's fine, but for some of the centrepieces he may need to set them up?

I think for the complimentary rose bouquet, you can request multicolour roses. I don't like the plain white/cream ones either, so I was going to ask for shades of pink. Also another option is getting the real touch silk bouquets. I'm seriously considering this because the quoted price from BP is ridiculously expensive

I'd prob just get the sparklers here and bring them in my suitcase. I don't think you can carry them on, but it should be fine in your suitcase.  Just remember to keep all of your receipts. I remember Lindsay had them a few pages back in her review

Your date is coming up so soon ! Very exciting :)

Zuniga quoted me $88 per centerpiece! I was kind of shocked, and I didn't even like them so no thank you. Granted we're only going to have 5 tables but we could almost get a Mariachi band for that

I think that's why a lot of brides bring their own centrepieces and just supplement with smaller flower arrangements, esp. considering it's just for 1 night and guests can't even take them home at the end.

How many room nights do you have booked? Are you getting the unlimited events?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
