Beach Palace Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies, I am back! I had the most amazing week of my life! Like brides in the past have said, everything may not go as planned but it will all be perfect in the end! I don't have my professional photos back yet, but I will post some for you ladies once I get them. For now here are some pics from my Mom's camera. I know I loved seeing other brides setup's etc. Ceremony -Sky Terrace: I choose the "old" complimentary package. Added silver sashes from Zuinga. I brought programs and paper fans to be put on each chair. I also brought the silk rose petals. I believe they actually glued them down, as it was pretty windy and most seemed to stay put. * * * Cocktail Hour- Beach Side South Terrace I don't have any pics of the cocktail hour yet I had them set up tall tables and they served the appetizers, I cannot comment on the food as I missed this entire part taking pictures. They did serve my signature drink to all the guests as they arrived. NOTE they call LIMES LEMONS. My signature drink was a vodka, lemonade with grenadine and they asked if i wanted a lemon or orange added, i said lemon, but it was really a lime. Apparently a they call limes lemons and lemons, oranges? I am still confused! * Reception- Lagoon Side South Terrace When they suggested having dinner on the lagoon side, I was turned off, of course I though the ocean would be better, but once it gets dark the ocean is black and the lagoon side is full of lights really beautiful! I rented almost all of the decor for the reception from Zuinga. I brought my own starfish place cards, m&m favors, candy for the piñata, cupcake wrappers, cupcake to go bags and monogram stickers for cupcake to go bags. Zuinga didn't get everything right here. I wanted one long SKINNY table (one table wide) they put two tables wide instead. The linens were alot darker then I expected, I was shown a much lighter grey photo. Also the large square candles on the table were supposed to go around the pool, i assume they decided the table looked empty and decided to add them to the table. I ordered a piñata that was supposed to be yellow and it was pink. Also my seating arrangement was wrong although I believe it was Beach Palace who took care of this part.  As i said earlier, this all didn't go as I planned but in the end, it didn't matter at all. I was the only one who knew what wasn't right. I received so many compliments from the guests. The Pinata was a HIT! Zuinga charged me $100 for the pinata and the stick (stupid expensive but I wasn't going to lug one down on the plane!) I brought all my own candy to fill it, I think the adults had more fun then the kids trying to get the candy free. Worth every penny! The Gobo (monogram light) only cost $80 I believe from JSAV and just pulled everything together! Really made the area personalized and helped keep wedding crashers out when they could clearly see it was a wedding. We used JSAV for the IPOD setup and extra lightening. Do it! They ran our ipod for us and basically worked as a DJ, when everyone was dancing they were quick to change the song if the crown wasn't feeling it. The extra tree lights we rented were amazing. They had colored lights which created a really good mood for the dance floor. For Dinner we choose the Italian Buffet, to be honest I didn't really like it but perhaps I was too busy enjoying my day. All my guests said they liked it..maybe they were just being polite? We opted and paid for cupcakes instead of cake ($3 per cupcake) We are obsessed with Red Velvet cupcakes so naturally wanted them at the wedding, My wedding planner said they did not know what this was. I sent them an example reciepe and they said they could make it. This worried me but they really turned out great! My wedding coordinator even packed up the left over cupcakes in my togo bags so my guests could just grab them as they left. * * * LL * Please let me know if anyone has any questions. This thread was the most helpful to me so I will be happy to pay it forward. Enjoy the planning ladies, it comes and goes quick! -K
:D I'm so happy to see that you had a wonderful experience!!!! I really want my hair down, but based off prior "windy" posts I figured having it all up would be good so its not all over the place in photos. I am surprised to see you left your hair down, but it is not wind blown and it looks gorgeous!!! I'm sure the guests had a fabulous time! Congratulations!

Thanks so much! I was worried about the wind too. I decided to make a game time decision. It was windy on the beach but not up on the terraces. Depending where your wedding is you could have your hair down. I did so photos on the beach and it was a little difficult with wind flying but that's half the fun of a beach wedding I guess. Good luck with your planning!

Looks so beautiful Kristi! Congrats!!!

How was the wedding ceremony time with pictures after etc? And how was the heat up there in a dress?

I am from Calgary too, did you use a tour operator? Which one and how was the experience with them. (I am using sunwing)

Also were your flights non stop/decent times?

Thanks!!!

Congratulations!! Beautiful pictures. I'm so glad everything turned out well. Who did you go with for photography? I love the monogram light. I just asked Alex from JSAV if we can add this. $80.00 is nothing :-)

I'm so glad you had such an amazing time! Did you do any tours while you were there?

We decided to do a few "first look" photos before the ceremony, but even without I think there was enough time. The light at sunset is so beautiful! I cannot wait to get my professional photos back! I booked through a travel agent, we had direct flights!

HI Nicole,

We used Fine Art Studio, I had Fabrizio and Al for the wedding day and Fabrizio, Al and Diego for the Trash the Dress shoot. Here is the one pic they have posted on their facebook page:

I cannot wait to see the rest!!!!

Awesome to hear you are adding the GOBO, i was so happy i did!

Honestly I booked some tours (with the resort credits) but i didnt end up going. I had so many friends and family there that I had such a good time hanging with everyone.

But from what i heard from my guests the Isla Mujeres was good, not great. The Wet n Wild was pretty run down only has 6 slides, most cabbed back early bc they couldnt spend a whole day there. The swim with the dolphins is at Moon Palace and I heard it was good.  My mom did everyother tour imaginable and she seemed to like them all.. the ruins, chichenitza etc

Congrats!!! nice wedding! great pics....I was just wondering where did you get your bridesmaid dresses from?

Thanks so much! The bridesmaid dresses are from Davids Bridal (you can only get this color in the states) I live in Canada so it was quite the ordeal. I have an extra dress new with tags (wrong size) for sale and my bridesmaids would be willing to sell as well if we had the sizes you needed. Let me know!

Thank you RPc51! I had the monorgram made and sent it to JSAV, they made the gobo from this.

Hello Ladies,

I am in the middle of reserving my date for my May 23rd wedding in beach palace, I have a few questions and hope some one can share some tips.

Can i do the complimentary ceremony and still have a reception? Is it better to just pick a package?

Once you choose a package the reception tables are an additional cost? and do i have to pay a person for the reception?

Did anyone use Zuniga?

TIA

Happy Planning Ladies

Hi Bella! I didn't use the salon, I brought in Norma from Mac for makeup and Moses Cendejas for hair. Bridesmaids paid 140 each for hair and makeup and I paid 250 for hair and makeup As for the flowers. I brought the bouquets they are real touch flowers. They did use my "free" bouquet on my guestbook table . Oh maybe you mean the rose petals? Well they charged me 300 for the setup of all the stuff I brought for both ceremony and reception

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
