I

Also just a heads up...no matter how long they have to save...they won't!!! So be prepared that you will probably get some grief and groaning about cost. And the ones who say they are definitely in, may not be! Not to be a downer but it was a huge stressor for me and I ended up feeling very guilty at times and mad. You have to be in the frame of mind that it will all work out :) [/quote I know, I'm hoping for the best! Thank you

We are getting married on June 22, 2013 only a couple months away we are having 20 guest and am trying to decide about the reception... our ceremony is at 1 wanted an evening but that was all that was available so we are now trying to decide do we have the cocktail hour and reception right after ceremony or do we have it later in the evening starting around 5? Do we have it on one of the terraces or in the ballroom, I feel if we do the ballroom it will be awkward because we do not have that many people coming. So many decisions but I am so excited! Any suggestions are welcomed!

Hi Ladies,

Iâ€m getting married Aug. 10 at BP and Iâ€m getting a few questions from our guests about the safety of the resort. Have any past BP brides (or anyone thatâ€s stayed there) had any safety issues whatsoever?

Also, a few guests have asked if the resort has good bars/clubs. I donâ€t think it has either right? How far is the Cancun party scene?

Lastly, how far is the resort from the airport?

Thanks ladies!

Stacie

Hi Stacie,

I have not stayed there but i did visit the resort, what safety concerns are your guests having?

There is no bar or club on the resort, the "Stadium bar" will be the hangout place where everycan have drinks late into the night, it is Sports Bar themed and they have pool tables etc.

Beach Palace is walking distance to the Cancun Party scene!

Beach Palace is 20min from the airport!

Hope this helps!

Do you mean the floating chinese paper laterns? They will not allow them :(  I tried!

I think some people are just concerned about Mexico in general. Did you walk to the bars/clubs and have any issues at all? This does help, thank you!
I got engaged in Cancun in February and I can tell u that it's really safe, but always be alert.

We also had another couple that went with us and we walked and took cabs everywhere. I feel like if your not trying to look for trouble or get into anything illegal, like drugs, you are going to be fine and have a blast. I would be more concerned about those waves ;)

Hi Ladies

I am new to this forum, but am getting married at BP on May 17, 2013 -I can't believe how quickly it's coming up. I was very stressed out when I first starting reading this forum a couple of months ago - I too had difficulty with being changed from coordinator to coordinator. I found that if you put URGENT in the subject of your email, you get a faster response. I also hadn't decided anything nor were my guests booking quick enough and that was making me crazy. It all comes together at once, so don't worry!! Most everyone will book at the last minute!!

We have 50 guests coming down for our big day and we are taking full advantage of the freebies with our contract. Welcome Cocktail (Infinity Terrace) is on Wednesday, Pre-wedding Dinner (Beach) on Thursday and then Wedding (Sky Wedding Deck), Cocktail Hour (Sky Terrace) and Reception (Palenque Terrace).

For the Pre-Wedding Dinner, Zuniga is providing tiki torches ($108 for 12) for atmosphere and I am bringing some tea lights for the tables.

We are having a guitar soloist for the ceremony. Zuniga is allowing us the use of some of the reception centerpieces at the ceremony and will set them up on the ceremony site with no additional charge.

We contracted JSAV for DJ services and had them provide an MC to make sure someone would be in charge of announcements and getting the dancing started - hopefully that will go accordingly. They are letting us use an iPod speak at the post-ceremony cocktail hour free of charge. It wasn't part of the package, but I asked for it and they had no problem providing.

We are having an end to end lantern structure with 7 round tables on the Palenque Terrace. Zuniga is also doing under table lighting and  centerpieces. I am brining tea lights and silk flowers with me. Check out Jamali Gardens http://www.jamaligarden.com/ if you need ideas for table decorations that won't cost an arm and a leg. Our colors are hot pink and orange. We ordered hot pink votive holders that were on clearance (40) and silk orchid flowers  in hot pink and orange (60 of each color). It all cost $100 and will add a little something extra to the plain white table linens.

400

We are using Ocean Photo Studio for the photography. They seemed pretty reasonable price-wise and the photo samples provided looked good. Everyone at all the vendors were very helpful and responsive.

Past brides - any advice for when we arrive?

Good luck with all your planning!

Stephanie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
