Thanks Kristie!

Yes i agree it's silly.  I would like to find out how much they charge BEFORE I go ahead to purchase all these stuff.  If they're going to charge me an arm and a leg then I'd might as well purchase from them.  It absolutely baffles me with all their policies and just they way they work sometimes!!  Sorry I'm already venting and I haven't done anything yet! LOL!

HI Cheryl.

I just heard back, and they said a minimum $100 charge depending on how much you bring.

I'm feeling a little lost on this one. I don't want it to look too "prom" or cheesy with color coordination.

Let me know what you guys think :-)

HI Nicole,

My husband to be and the groomsmen are all doing grey suits bought from Zara, and are just wearing a V neck T shirt underneath, no vests, ties, or collared shirts. I really like the more casual look but definitely not for everybody!

Their setup fee is quite ridiculous. They're also kinda vague, they say $150 and up, but I would like to know what counts as "up", just to make sure the set up doesn't cost me more than the decorations haha.

I guess there's no getting away from hidden fees for all resorts. I wonder if it's actually that hard to make a sheet with all these extra costs? It wouldn't just reduce bride stress, but it would also save the coordinator many e-mails and headaches.

  • 2 weeks later...

Anyone that is doing a welcome dinner or any past brides that have (Shan perhaps...) what is your plan for centerpieces/decor for that? Are you doing anything? Marisol emailed and asked me yesterday if I was bringing any decor with me and said "surely you with have decor for your first event..." made me feel like maybe I needed to but definitely something I don't want to spend money on! Any suggestions?? Thanks ladies!! I leave 1 month from yesterday!! Getting close!

Marisol asked me the same thing but didn't make that comment lol.  I did not bring anything- who decorates for a rehersal dinner/welcome dinner when your wedding is at home? My WC actually provided lantern type decorations for centerpieces and led candles.  I was fine with no decorations- I didn't want to hassle with a lot of stuff for a welcome/rehersal dinner.  Here is a pic of what they provided:

THANK YOU!! That make's me feel better. Maybe they will just do something like that for me too. I was thinking about getting something maracas from amols.com for some color and its cheap for something since now I felt like it was going to be a blank white empty space, and I needed to. That wouldn't be too big of a pain. I definitely won't be putting much time, money, or energy into it. That's for sure! I love those lanterns! I'll keep my fingers crossed they hook me up :)

You're welcome!!! I did the maracas for my wedding reception so that wasn't an option haha.  But that is a good easy idea! :)

Congrats again.i would love to see some photos of the ceremony since you mentioned having it in the ballroom which I am interested in. How many people attended your wedding? Also with the free events were any sort of decor provided? And how many days are you allowed to throw free events? Thanks any answers would be helpful.

Past Beach Palace Brides,

Did anyone use one long table? If so what size of table did you use and can you post pictures?

The resort says they only have 8' long 30" wide tables and they are suggesting that the 30" width is too narrow. I have done alot of research and there seems to be quite a few brides who have used the 30" width with no problem.

I really want my guests to be close enough to talk, i am seating couple across the table from each other.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
