Beach Palace Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I will be getting married at Beach Palace in April 2013.

It will be here before I know it and I feel like I'm behind in the planning.

Photographer - Have not booked yet. Still doing research. They are all so $$$.

Flowers - No idea how this works with the resort or with outside vendors.

Wedding Package - Complimentary

Guests - 30 have booked. We were expecting 60. Not sure what the final number is going to be.

Bridesmaid Dresses - Have picked a colour but that's all.

MyDress - I have 2! One for beach ceremony and one for reception. Just ordered them on Sat. Should be here by Jan.

TTD Dress - Still have to get something for this.

DJ - Looking for a good one as there will be lots of dancing and partying.

Decor - Looking for Ideas on line.

I was going to participate in the Webinar but wasn't able to. Thanks for sharing all the information.

I have been in touch with Zuniga for small things such as tablecloths, chair sashes and some sheers on the ceremony structure. I plan to make some things and bring them down.

Guests-I have about 14 booked, expecting about 16 more but I have some complainers and slackers that are not making me very happy. But I decided I have to let it go.

Photographer-M&J Photography

Flowers-I was going to have Marvin I have a quote from him but am thinking of making my girls those seashell bouquets and just cutting out flowers all together.

Dress-ordered I think it comes in Feb., and I am gonna be brave and use my own dress for TTD. I feel like I want it to be my own dress in those photos and I will never wear it again and really my kids are not going to either! It was not too expensive $900 so I am just gonna do it!

Bridesmaids-picked out have an appt. Saturday for all of them to get measured and ordered.

DJ-we are just paying to have the iPod setup with speakers and will make our own playlists

I also want to do OOT bags I have a list of things I plan to put in them but with the slackers I cannot safely start ordering and preparing them.

Invites-not done. I am going to make myself and I am hoping to get out in Nov. so maybe I can nail people down and get started with decorations and planning more.

I booked Norma to come do my makeup also

Oh i booked Norma too!

I feel like our weddings will be pretty similar. Good taste ;)

I may end up just wearing my dress for TTD too! We will see.

Good luck on your invites and hopefully your slackers will get in gear and start booking!

Hi Melmelly,

I am getting married at the Beach Palace on July 12th, 2013.

I am going with the photographer who comes with the wedding package, Ocean Photo Studio. I paid for the Pearl Shimmer colin cowie wedding package. It seems a bit pricey at $3,500 just for the ceremony, but you can use your $1,500.00 resort credit toward the package, so it comes out to only $2,000.00. I am worried about my guests booking enough nights to get the reception free, but hopefully I qualify for the free private function and cocktail hour.

I was worried about guests wanting to book through a travel agent too, which is why I opted out of doing a room block. I decided to have all my guests book through an outside website, like www.travelocity.com where they can book flight and hotel together. It saves them money!

I am unsure about the DJ as well. I think I'm going to just rent the speakers and do an IPOD hookup & have a friend announce first dance, etc...

I am booking Zuniga for reception decor. She found decor that matches the Pearl Shimmer package well for the table decor, and I'm doing purple lights under the table and floating candles in the pool. That's about it! Don't want to go too crazy on decor, the prices add up quick.

I have bought my dress already. It will be ready December 10th. My bridesmaid dress has been picked and almost all of my bridesmaids have been fitted and bought their dress already as well.

What are you doing for bridesmaid flowers? I believe the package comes with flower for bride to hold during ceremony, but are the bridesmaid flowers really expensive?

Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have :-)

- Nicole

Hi Nicole,

I am been in touch with Zuniga but havent really decided on anyting. Do you have photos of what she has available similar to the pearl shimmer package? I really liked the table decor but couldnt order it since i am doing the complimentary ceremony.

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married at Beach Palace on Dec 5, 2012. We leave on the 2nd!! 3 weeks away at this point.  I have a question, who is Norma? she is coming to the resort to do makeup? Is this an outside vendor?

I booked a  hair/makeup trial with the resort and then another appointment for my wedding day. That is the only stress I have; my hair and make up!! I am using my $1500 resort credits for both.

Also, Marvin is coming to drop off flowers, he is fantastic and reasonably priced. No outside vendor fee as well.

We have 38 people so we get unlimited private functions. We are having a rehearsal dinner on the beach 2 days before the wedding. That was $6 per person set up fee I believe. We also got 2 doves to release in honour of my fiancés father who recently passed away. $300.

We decided to go with DJ PSAV, much cheaper and he is providing lights since it will be dark to start our reception. We are having constellation lights under the tables (creative cancun). They look really nice and it will help with lighting. Therefore, we won't need centre pieces. We went with the complimentary package. We have a photographer friend that is coming.

In total for everything at Beach palace: set up fees, ceremony, reception, dj, constellation lights, rehearsal dinner- it cost us $3,500.

If you have any questions, please ask away!!! I will post some pictures when I return!

HI JK,

Yes Norma is a make up artist- she works at the MAC in downtown Cancun. I  have booked her for my wedding. She and her associate (hairdresser) are coming for hair and makeup. You do have to pay for a visitor pass for each to come on the wedding day.

As for the salon at Beach Palace I was told if you plan on using your $1500 resort credit you could not make a reservation until you arrived at the hotel. If you did make an appointment before hand you were unable to use the credit? Have you heard of this?

Everything you are doing for $3500 is insanely great! Do you mind me asking what you are getting from DJ PSAV and how much? I had decided against a budget because it was so expensive but would be interested what they are charging?

Good Luck and Congratulations! I cannot wait to see your photos!!

Hi Kristie,

The DJ service came to $1589 including everything. You don't need to pay an outside vendor fee as well because they work with Palace resorts. We booked him for 4 hours from 630-1030pm. I believe there are cheaper packages and depending on what you want. We wanted to go with a DJ because even if we brought our ipod, we still would have had to pay for speakers and a mic which I don't remember the exact price. And also, to designate someone to work the ipod. We just want everyone to have a great time and we don't want to put anyone to work. Especially since everyone paid a good chunk of money to come to our wedding. The extra lighting the DJ will be providing will help us out because it will be dark early in December. So the DJ service was a YES for us!! DJ PSAV contact is dalvarez@PSAV.COM.

We got a decent price for Creative Cancun for our constellation lights because we are having a December wedding (off season) and we  negotiated the price. So by having creative cancun come and set up all the lights and reception decor- we don't have to pay a set up fee to the resort nor an outside vendor fee because they work hand in hand with Palace resorts.

Since we booked before the changes to the resort credits (we booked last January)- we are getting 4 hours free reception, they changed it to 2 hours unlimited private function then to pay each person/table per hour for any additional hours. So we were lucky! and we also don't have to pay taxes on our resort credits because we booked before the new changes. That saved us a lot of money as well!

For my hair, we are allowed to use $300 resort credits for the spa services. So since I am getting a hair/makeup trial 2 days before hand and then Getting my hair/makeup done on our wedding day. I booked both! I will using my resort credits for one of those and paying for the other. They say you have to wait until you get to the resort, but being a bride, you will be able to make an appointment to secure a spot. Since you have already booked with someone else, then that's great!!!

Any other questions, please feel free to ask! This time 3 weeks from now will be our rehearsal dinner on the beach :) time has just flown by!! So happy planning :)

K

I would go with regular size since most of the glasses were a bit taller.

Here's a smaller martini-like glass that they served some of our drinks in on the beach during our welcome cocktail hour, and the photo below it are the glasses that they served pretty much everything else in.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
