Beach Palace Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

Just thought I'd chime in on some of the recent posts.

Regarding the Miami office closing/contacting coordinators:

My TA confirmed that the Miami office closed and there are some "internal changes" happening related to the re-branding (some of the resorts becoming Hard Rocks). Supposedly they are opening a new office somewhere in Mexico.

Now that I'm less than 90 days out, my BP coordinator has emailed me with some questions. It looks as if she's being proactive to try and nail down some of the details. I don't know if we'll actually go back and forth and if I'll receive answers to all of my questions but at least there is a record of my requests that hopefully we can reference when I get there. You can tell it's a boilerplate/template email that I'm sure they send to every bride. But at least there is now some communication and I know who my on-site planner is.

I'm working closely with Lily at Zuniga to sort out all of the decor details. She seems to be very responsive and most recently I sent her several pictures of what I have in mind. I'm trying to be flexible and open-minded about flowers and decor. Instead of expecting something specific, I just want her to understand the look I want and then she can have some creative license to re-create it.

Photographer:

I booked Del Sol Photography which is supposed to be a "preferred vendor" which means we don't pay the $500 fee. I would raise the vendor fee issue with anyone you are considering booking to see if they can work with you on having the fee waived or adjusting their prices to save you some money.

I've been in touch with JSAV the Beach Palace preferred vendor but their packages are several hundred dollars more than others. So I'm trying to see of they'll work with me. I don't like being only presented with one option and that one option is significantly more expensive than others.

As I've mentioned in previous posts - it's abundantly clear that none of us will have the level of communication we want to the control we expect with this resort. With that in mind these past few months I totally switched gears and focused on the things I can control here in the States. This mentality has helped a lot. Earlier this year I was so beyond frustrated, it just took too much of a toll on me.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the planning process!

Both PSAV and JSAV are both preferred vendors for Palace resorts and PSAV is about $200 cheaper per package than JSAV! Most people at Moon Palace use PSAV because of the price difference.

They are extremely secretive about it. I don't know why. I asked repeatedly about Del Sol because they've shot so many weddings at Palace properties and I kept getting different answers. Finally, it was Del Sol that let me know they had been selected as a preferred vendor. The only other names they gave me were JSAV (for DJ and AV) and Zuniga (for decor). My recommendation would be to find the vendors you like and ask the vendors to negotiate with the hotel on your behalf. They seem to arbitrarily apply the outside vendor fee and I would pushback against it. So far it's working for me but I'll let you know when I see the bill in November! LOL!

Has anyone been in contact with Clarissa out of the Cancun office? She took over Charmaine's accounts who used to be in Miami. I went to sign my group contract today and pay my stay in full, then she told me they will only except a check or wire transfer. This is CRAZY to me. Did anyone else get told that they had to pay that way?

Hey guys! My name is Nicole. My wedding date is confirmed for July 2013 at Beach Palace.

I received a email confirmation confirming my wedding date and saying that someone would be contacting me within 30 days to begin the planning process. Well...no one has contacted me yet :( I've sent multiple emails, to no avail.

I have so many questions. I plan on getting the Pearl Shimmer wedding package and upgrading the photography package, dance floor, and reception tables. I'm a little worried about using the hotel photographer. Not sure what to expect.

If anyone has any advice please let me know!

Looking forward to hearing from you guys,

Nicole

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
