Beach Palace Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

--> Mehganc - I am getting married at the Beach Palace on May 26th. Last week I was also notified by the WC that the collection that I chose is not available until June 1st. I have been waiting for them to send me my options but have yet to see anything. I have been really bummed about it because I didn't want to have to worry about anything or bring any decorations with me. I agree with you that communication is slow and it seems like they say one thing and then do another. I keep reminding myself that it is not whats important, I just really had liked the new collections so much more than the old. It's awesome that you and I are getting married on the same weekend. We will definitely have to have a cocktail together!!

That is a good suggestion. I will heavily consider! Might be my only option.

Thanks so much Mehgan.

The bride and groom had a chance to interact when they saw each other the first time, and they got amazing photos of the moment. They then had plenty of time to do shots with the bridal party before the ceremony. Also, this allowed more time with their guests at the cocktail hour and reception.

Oh, absolutely! It is definitely a small world...

I was really bummed in the beginning as well, but then I saw it as an opportunity to make our wedding even better...I definitely preferred the newer collections opposed to the old ones. In fact, I just decided to bring my own decor instead of choose one of the old ones...I didn't want to bring anything with me either, but at least this way, I know its right. Also, as of right now, we saved enough money by doing this to have a private reception. Of course, that is banking on the resort keeping their word.

I cannot believe you haven't been given your options yet...My WP has been very responsive, and (obviously) our wedding is after yours. Let me know what she tells you..perhaps we can compare notes to make sure we are both getting "fair" treatment.

I heard that Palace has pulled their resorts from Expedia.  I checked to see if it really was the case and I do not see palace resorts on Expedia's site.

I thought I would give you a heads up in case you were thinking of sending your weddings guests to expedia to book their trip.

We have a GREAT relationship with Palace Resorts and they offer really great group amenities so if you are looking for a TA that specializes in destination wedding, you might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents.  We Specialize in Destination weddings.  You can contact us HERE!

If you do not know what TA you want to work with, just fill out the form Contact a Destination Wedding Specialist HERE and I will direct you to the best agent that fits your needs.

Yes. so the WC has offered for me to pick any of the old collections to have for the ceremony. Supposedly I will be refunded for the Colin collection that I had picked but they told me it would take 3-4 months to get the refund. From what I hear, it takes a really long time to get a refund and you have to keep on top of them in order to see anything.

I really don't want to have to bring any decorations with me so I think I'll wait til I get there to see what they can offer as far as table decorations and chair sashes. I figure it's not the end of the world if I don't have them. i think for the most part, I have everything picked out. I just need to make sure everything is in order and that the WC has all of my requests.  The one thing that I was upset with was that I had picked out the table decorations for the reception from the Colin Cowie collection. When they told me it wouldn't be in stock the WC said it would cost me $200 more per table to try to recreate the look. I told her that was not going to happen and that I would only pay the cost that the original collection was considering it was not my fault that they did't have it. So, as for now I am waiting for them to send me options.

How many people are you having? Are you doing the private reception on the sky terrace? I am using their photographer and d.j. I'm worried that the d.j. won't be good. I have read so many bad reviews. What are you using as far as both d.j. and photographer?

The WP offered me the same thing. Since we decided to have a private reception, I asked her to apply the refund towards the event cost, and she did so on the provided invoice. You may want to ask her to do so for you if you have additional costs for the DJ/Photography. Also, the WP said she has to charge me for anything she has to get from an outside vendor (decor beyond their packages as well as flowers)...Since I decided to bring my own decor, she is voiding the set-up fee (Of course, I read on the Moon Palace board that Zuniga will set up your decor for free as long as you rent something from them, and since I am getting chairs from them..I'm not really getting a deal).

We are only having 21 guests, so we opted for the iPod sound system through PSAV. Our ceremony is on the beach, and our cocktail hour and reception will be on the south terrace (terrace right below the sky terrace). What sites are you going with? I have also read that their DJ doesn't do much beyond control the music..perhaps you can look into an outside vendor? I have heard good things about the new photography vendor, however.

Have you heard from your onsite-coordinator yet? I'm so worried that everything will be lost in translation by the time it gets to her/him that nothing will be as planned.

Good luck on getting what you want from the WP..In my opinion, she should be bending over backwards to accomodate you since the resort messed up your original package.

I am going to try and ask her to put the refund toward the amount that we still owe, but I have a feeling that she is going to say no. I don't understand why it takes three months to get a refund. The WC says that it is because it is coming from Mexico. lol.

As far as the D.J., I had tried to book a better outside company, but they all emailed me back and said they were booked. Hopefully whoever we get will be in the mood to be active and involved. I'll be sure to let the on site coordinator know that is what we want. I will be sending a list of music to the d.j. along with specific songs to play for when we come in and I dance with my dad etc..

We have 60 guests. The ceremony will be on the beach along with the cocktail hour. I wanted the cocktail hour on the beach so that when we were taking photos we can have as many people involved as possible. I am not doing a wedding party, so I don't want all the pics to be of just the two of us. We are going with the complimentary soloist for the ceremony, probably a saxophone and the mexican trio for the cocktail hour. The reception will be on the south terrace. i will also be having a breakfast on the south terrace the next morning for all the guests. Because I have a lot of guests we qualified for unlimited private functions. I didn't know what else to use them for so I figured all the early birds could get up and have breakfast together!

The night before our wedding we are doing a booze cruise to Isla Mujeres with all of our guests. It is a one hour boat ride to Isla Mujeres with all alcohol included. Once there, you have dinner on the beach, see a Mayan show and play games. Then an hour boat ride back.  I still need to book transportation to and from the boat port but it should be a lot of fun. Hopefully we don't get too drink happy and do it just right.

I have not heard from the on-site coordinator yet but I wouldn't be worried. From what I hear they do a really great job catering to your every need. I suggest bringing all the paperwork that you have with you and writing out a list of all the things you want. I would also print out all emails that you have saved that have specific information about your wedding day. From what I read, once you get there the coordinator will sit down with you and go over everything as far as the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

What is your e-mail. I would forward you the different options from the old collection because it is too many slides to repost here. I really like the new Colin collection better than what was offered before. The hotel should offer you group rates for all your guests. From what I remember, it was a 10% discounted rate. If the decor is not to your liking they do have the option of creating your own look. That definitely takes more time and patience. It is really difficult to deal with the WC, especially over the phone. i had originally booked my wedding at the Cancun Palace. Then I went there for 10 days on vacation and met with the on site Wedding coordinator. A week after I came home they sent me an email informing me that they cancelled my wedding due to overbooking, I was angry at them but it all works out in the end. Just make sure you get everything in writing and save all emails that promise you anything. Have they sent you the different menu options? It depends on how many guests you are having. If you are having less than 30 you can book a reservation in one of the restaurants. The food is great in all the places. With more than 30 you may have a private event and usually means buffet food. They have about 15 different options on menus for that. Send me your email and I will forward you any information I have. Let me know if you have more questions and don't stress!! It will all work out and be absolutely wonderful!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
