Non Sand or Beach Ceremony Decoration Ideas

Recommended Posts

I am a very simple girl and I think the view is amazing and all I would do is maybe put two standing arrangements on either side of where you get married (alter)  See if they have a more elegant table without the cloth over it.  But again, I love love the view!!!

Thanks Jamie5280!  I'm actually leaning towards your idea, I'm just stuck on these hydrangeas.  My FMIL says they aren't too good for the sun and heat.  She's probably totally right, but our ceremony is at 5:00pm and the sunset that day says 7:15pm.  So we'll have sun, but it shouldn't be too strong (at least that's what I hope, lol).

Have you ever been to your location that time of year? I have not, but I travel during the summer, and it is always still hot at about 5. That being said, May is earlier, and I know temperatures can vary a LOT. Just do some research; you may be able to find out that it will be totally fine! Or, maybe you will be able to find something else that you will like as much. Just do with your gut!

I've only been to Mexico in August and it was SUPER hot!  Like couldn't walk on the sand without shoes hot!  May is pretty warm too, but I'm hoping not as steamy as July/August.

My wedding coordinator is actually heading to Mexico in the next week and will be visiting our hotel so I've asked her to check with the hotel coordinator to see what she thinks.  I'm not 100% set on these hydrangeas so if it doesn't work out then I'll need to figure out something else.  Right now I'm googling away ;-)

I have been to Mexico the end of May and it was hot and humid.  But I am not sure how it is at the beginning of May???

I honestly think that whatever flowers you choose will be gorgeous!  Not to mention, most people probably won't be able to decipher between flowers anyways.  Can't wait to hear what you end up doing!!!

I'm from Vancouver where right now it's raining (surprise surprise) so I'll take hot and humid over rain any day!  Haha.  I'll definitely keep you posted on what I end up choosing.  Right now everything else I come up with my mom hates.  The latest and greatest is that she hates orchids.  Lol who hates orchids?!  I'm just trying to be accommodating because she's contributing a lot financially speaking...however I'm sure it will get to the point of where I ring up the coordinator and say "let's just go with plan A" cheesy.gif  Oh the joys of wedding planning cheers.gif

This is ABSOLUTELY Gorgeous!! Yes, you should definitely do the tall vases. If you decide to do runners, you should create your own with both of your initials then add rose pedals to it. I've seen some really nice DIY runners. I'll post it when I find the website if your interested!!

My florist told me that too that the hydrangeas are not good in the heat! Have you thought about bringing down silk hydrangeas... they look like the real thing! Might have to assemble them once your there but definitely do able if this is what you want!! I think we might go this route... just not sure if our resort will have a vase that tall :(. Does yours??

Sorry for all the post :)... just wanted to comment on another thing. I was in Cancun late april to may last year and it was hot!! I think we only had 1 cloudy afternoon for a couple hours, then it was back to hot and humid again. Hope that helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
