Thank you so much for your info! I'm also working with Ana....

How many guests are you having and is that why you are doing the set menu before you arrive? We purchased the Divine wedding package but we think we're going to have about 50-75 guests coming so we have to pay per person for any guests 26+ --- We priced it out on our own and it ends up being about $80-100/per person for those additional guests with cocktail hour, appetizers, reception dinner....

We are getting married April 21, 2012 and it's a Saturday... So it's hard to negotiate when there are other weddings going on as well.

You will have to let me know how the Oceanview terrace is and how big it is... If I do end up having about 75 guests, I don't want it to be too cramped and not be able to have room to dance.

Keep us posted and have a great time on your wedding!!

We will be 32 of us in total, so quite a bit smaller than your group, and even I was worried about the size of the terrace. I'll let you know for sure how it is.

OK, so here is the deal on the terrace: it's quite long, and is a decent size, but regardless of how many people you have, the area for dancing is pretty small, and it has a curb in the middle of it. We didn't really do much dancing, but I can imagine that with lots of people and some alcohol, it would be pretty easy for someone to twist an ankle. I'll try to find a photo of what the curb looks like to describe it better. It would be tight for 75 people to dance in the space, anyway, unless they moved a table or two after dinner.

Let me know if you have any other questions, we just got home yesterday so it is all still fresh in my mind!

Has anyone found a reasonable florist to meet outside the resort?

From reading way too many blogs/forums about the resort, I think I may have some helpful info.  If you decide to do flowers from another vendor, you can just meet the person outside the resort and them bring the flowers in yourself saving you the $350.  Many brides have done this since the resorts prices are really expensive.  As for a DJ, I am still unsure but I may just do the ipod thing and have a designated person "in charge".  I think we'll have about 50 people so I've been looking for places to cut everywhere!  Apparently they serve enough hor d'oeuvers for 40 people during the cocktail party so that cuts some cost.  One planner also pointed out that since there is already alcohol and a bartender, it isn't necessary to pay extra pp for drinks either.  If you are having any kids at your wedding, they are half price for dinner (under the age of 12) so that helps!

I have yet to figure out a photographer...I feel like everything is so cheesy!  (and expensive)  Hope that helped a little.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
