Iberostar Paraiso Wedding Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Hi bridetobe12. We are getting married at the Maya on May 16th!!!! It's coming so quick. I feel like I have so much to do yet. So will your whole reception be at the Italian restaurant. Did you rent out the whole place or is it a semi private dinner? I'm still kind of confused by the whole process and don't always get straight forward answers in the emails I send. But I figure... We're in Mexico at an all inclusive resort, what could go wrong?!? ;)

Hi MayaBride2,

From the communication with Lily, that's what is sounds like; because we have so many people we are having a private dinner.  I didn't rent out the resteraunt but if you have over 30 it is private.  I've been to the resort before and it seems like they could split the resteraunts if they needed to, but I am not particular sure about it, nor am I concerned.  The wedding planner requested how we want our table arranged, we made it clear that we want a dancing area and have hired a DJ and she has not said anything that makes me think this will not be a good area?  My brother and his wife married at the Iberostar in Jamaica and they had the whole resteraunt because they had 50 people and everything went amazing so I do not have any concern.  I will admit that it is a bit stressful because they are very bad with communication through email, but I trust that it will all be okay!  Have you decided where your wedding will be?  Do you do the dreams package as well?

We are getting married on the beach and our reception will be at the Italian Restaraunt.  We originally wanted the outside courtyard area in the shopping center area but we have too many people, so we chose this.  We chose this because we could either choose a menu item for everyone or give choices, we wanted to give meal choices and they had the best.  I've requested more details and I haven't really gotten what I need so I just continue to email.  I did receive my timeline for the day which was most important to me.  My WC is Lily.  We are getting married at home first so we chose the symbolic ceremony with the dreams package.  We wanted to do everything (including the reception) there.  We have 50 traveling with us and 5 that are still unsure.  We just hired DJ Doremixx.  I just received the final paperwork from Lily- I see your wedding is in November so I attached some things to expect that I wish I would have known receiving this (though I'm not sure what kind of ceremony you're having so this may not be necessary for you).  This is the information that I need to fill out for the final details.  Hope this helps.

Im doing the Mayan Ceremony and hiring dancers. So im not sure if thats the dream category. So how many places did you have to choose from for your Ceremony? And how long do you have the restaurant for?

About the emails not getting a straight answer, I would cc Mariela Gomez on ever email. She gets it done!

You wear bracelets depending on what hotel you're in (different color for beach/del mar, Lindo/Maya, and Grand), but the bride and groom and bridal party can get the bracelets snipped the day of the wedding, just go to your front desk. Make sure you don't lose the bracelet b/c you'll need it to show it before you get a new one the next day or else they make a big deal of it and charge you $$$ for a "lost" bracelet.

Yep...we had our ceremony on the beach (btw if yours is in the evening you can ask her to get tiki torches, they're like $10 each) after which they gave out cold hors d'ouvres and champagne to the guests for about an hour. This is a good time for pix with your guests on the beach!

Then we all walked over to the Tapatio restaurant (super close to beach ceremony location) and were there from 6-11...we asked for an extra hour, the time FLIES so do ask for that extra hour!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
