Iberostar Paraiso Wedding Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Oh...a couple more questions...do you think younger boys can wear shorts to reception dinner....they say men need to wear pants but I am thinking 6 and under can wear nice shots.  Do you know if they serve coke products?  My sister only likes coke (hates pepsi and other colas).

Hi Merg87-

I suggest you contact the  hotel directly through their webiste. They will send you a list of prices and fees depending on what you are looking for. The package I purchased included 30 guests for the ceremony, reception and dinner ( private at the resturant Brisas's).

An additonal fee does apply if you more than 30 people.

Hey ladies!

I'm new to this thread, though i've been browsing through for a while.  I'm getting married on Sept 14, 2012 at the Paraiso Maya.  I'm am super excited, although reading through everyone else's i feel like I don't have details down!  I do have my dj (DJ Bob... he was from Jersey and retired in Cancun) and a photographer through the resort... i agree that the photos are incredibly important, and i couldn't spend the extra fee for bringing someone in.  I saw his photos and they look really good, so i'm not that concerned about it.  Everyone has been so quick to respond, which surprised me.  For those of you who have already had your weddings there, how did they go??  It's kind of scary just handing it over for someone to put together without being there!

I just got married at the Grand August 2, 2012 and it was AMAZING!  Jessica, the wedding coordinator, went above and beyond her duties, the hotel photographer, Jorge, was GREAT and I got my hair and makeup done at the spa and LOVED it.  We had 82 guests staying at Grand, Maya and Lindo.  We got married on the beach just outside of building 71, had a violin and accordian play music for wedding and had private reception at La Brisa so we could include kids.  We had DJ Doermixx DJ for us and Ivan was great.  We had a 6pm wedding and reception started at 7pm.  We decided not to do the cocktail hour since the dinner had so many courses.  We should have scheduled our wedding for 6:30pm because it did not take long and we finished doing pictures before the reception restaurant was ready....therefore guests were hanging out waiting to get a drink and relax.

They picked up the guests staying at Maya and Lindo on a train that took them directly to wedding site and the same train took them back at the end of the evening, then took whoever wanted to continue dancing, to the disco.  I did a hair and make-up test and while I loved it the first time, I did make a couple minor changes for the wedding day.  Here is a slideshow from the photographer.  Enjoy

@ Kelly K- How was your wedding at the Grand? We've been trying to get confirmation of our wedding for July 6, 2013, but Idalia has been extremely unresponsive and I am starting to get nervous. We've stayed at 2 other Grand's, Dominican Republic & Jamaica, and they've been amazing, but due to her lack of attention, I'm actually thinking of changing my venue to The Royal. I'm very dissappointed because we wanted to stay loyal to the Grand family, but due un-returned emails (I'm serious, I've been waiting on a response from her for 2 weeks, and my travel agent has sent multiple ones that haven't been addressed) I'm really thinking of going elsewhere. It's pretty sad because I wanted to do the Dream Package, and have about 35 confirmed guests that are ready for me to give them the Save the Date, but I can't do that without her response!

Any help or info on how you felt about your wedding, and Idalia, would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Kelly~ Ok, so I just saw this post and I'm so happy for you! Would you happen to have Jessica's email address over at Iberostar? I'm thinking of reaching out to her directly and seeing if she can assist me. Unfortunately I've been working with Idalia over there and she's been completely unresponsive to me and my travel agent.

Your photos are amazing!!! Did you get DJ Doermixx from the resort? I wasn't given that option and I'm sad because I feel like I've been shrugged off by the Grand... Any help you may have would be amazing!

Thanks!

Hi Annie: Jessica's email is weddings.grandparaiso@iberostar.com.mx We did book DJ Doremixx and Ivan was great!! We booked him through the hotel along with the wedding ceremony musicians so it all went on the hotel bill. Both Idalia and Jessica were great to work with...not sure why Idalia hasn't gotten back to you. They never said "no" to a request...if they did waiver on a request, I just asked again and they made it work. I will be happy to answer any questions. It is tough planning a wedding via email. It would be nice if they had a toll-free phone #. Good Luck! It will all be worth it. Kelly

Hello Kelly,

Thank you so much for your response, I'll definitely be a little more patient and see what we can get accomplished. Did you have your travel agent work with them directly or did you keep those separate? I'll definitely continue to ask because my requests aren't ridiculous, I just want to get some clarification on everythin... and a response!

Thanks for your time, I really do appreciate it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
