Iberostar Paraiso Wedding Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Hi Chibride (I can't see your profile to know your name!),

That's why I chose the Del Mar as well, we're hoping that people will be able to afford it and make an awesome trip out of it!  Also, the resort has a lot more greenery than the other Iberostar resorts right there.  It gives it a very romantic feel, I think you'll love it!

I also sent our my save the dates and have gotten some responses but no one has booked yet (not even us!)  We're going to book this week and I have a feeling that will create a domino effect!  I agree with you that predicting how many people will come is the hardest part.  I wish I just knew so I could start ordering stuff for out of town bags (OOT Bags) as that's the part I'm most excited about, I have so many ideas thanks to all the browsing I've done on here!

I ordered my dress but that won't be in until April or May so I'm sort of at a loss with what to plan next.  I'm just daydreaming right now I guess.  I think the next step is ordering invites!

Are you going with DJ Doremixx?  What photographer are you using?

Hi! Its been a while since I been on.. So to answer questions - Kelly Ive been working with 2 different girls and they have been very good about answering my millions of emails. The problem I have right now is why at an all inclusive place are they making the guest choose now what they want to eat at the rehearsal dinner and reception??? SO now my invitations have been sent out and i didn't include anything about food choices because they didn't let me know about this and now I have to email people. Also we have to choose only 2 options for the main entree! wtf. The only thing I was happy with concerning food was the cocktail hour- They gave me 14 choices to use. Kelly, for the reception choices you can only choose one soup, one starter, 2 entrees, 2 garnishes and one dessert. I think rehearsal dinner is free. And if you could send that package your talking about that would be great. Thanks!

I also have DJ doremixx which Im so excited about! I am having 50 people at the wedding so I rented La Brisa. I hate the floor though! Im hoping with the lighting and decorations that it will hide the floor lol. But I do love the fact that its inside (with air conditioner) and right on the beach and its secluded.

For the photographer, I am using iberostars adventure photography or something like that. We saw their shop at the lindo when we went down and we were happy with them so hopefully that works out!

Is the menu for the rehearsal dinner the same as for the reception?  How many are going to rehearsal dinner?  Where are you having it?  Kids, too???  Can you send me the menu for cocktail hour?  Are you having on the patio facing the beach at La Brisa?  We haven't decided on whether to do DJ Doremixx or get a band...I haven't seen any posts from anyone who had a band for the reception.  Can you send me the menu for the cocktail hour?  We are using the hotel's photographer, too.  I can't remember what the floor of the reception restaurant looks like, so I am not sure what you are talking about.  What type of table choices do you have for reception?  I am hoping for 8-top round tables, but don't know know what I can have.  Are you getting any extra decorations for the beach wedding ceremony?  What type of bouquet are you requesting?  So many questions....

Hi girls! I am new to this forum! Been getting frustrated with finding a resort and somehow came across this website. I am looking at booking one of the iberostar properties in the Mayan for either end October or beginning of November for my wedding. The number one question I have is that if my guests stay at lindo or maya can they still attend the wedding at the grand? Or do I have to pay extra? I saw one of you girls is renting a restaurant at the grand so kids could attend, is that something they are usually open to? Also I have tried downloading the file but was not able to. Could one of you email it to me pretty pease? any early help I can get would very much appreciate. I really need to book ASAP but cannot just book anything. Grand is my favorite of course out of the iberostars but considering others too. My travel agent just want me to book but I'm not too happy with any other than the grand. Any help Thank you girls!!!!!!!!!!

It's $1,650 to rent out the restaurant and then an extra charge per person for food/drinks....not sure what the extra will be.  Jaclyn, what are they charging you and what wedding package did you get?  I am going with the free wedding plan and need to see how much it is per person after 10 people.  I think it's $20/person

and I think kids are half price.  Jaclyn...did you get a kids menu?  I need to request that.  Also, Jaclyn, I would love to hear the menu you picked for your wedding...I just want to go there and sample so I can make a better decision, but that's not going to happen.  They raised the pricing on non-Grand guests to $50/person for Maya, $70/person for Lindo, $90/person for delMar, Beach Tucan Quetzel and Cozumel and $100 for non-iberostar guests.  It was less when I booked so they will honor the lower rate for me.  I attached the Free Wedding.

I booked DJDoremixx but am a bit worried because he's already booked so I have someone else from his company. I'm hoping since its the same music selection that's all that matters!! I've heard mixed reviews on resort photographers... And pictures are so important to me... We are sucking it up and paying for an outside vendor (although that fee kills me). We're using Dean Sanderson and are very excited about him. He recently moved to cancun full time from Canada and love his work. Plus we found him to be more reasonable price wise. Who are you using? Next up is figuring out hair/makeup. Any ideas?!?! Oh and my name is amy btw :)

I read that even if you don't have Ivan DJ Doremixx is still good (but I did make sure to secure Ivan as the DJ was the first thing I booked!)

I was looking at the styling trio for makeup, but haven't made a decision there as it's super expensive!  I'm having my hair done by the resort as it's included in my package (along with a trial so hopefully not much room for error the day of!)

My fiance and I booked our trip last week, we're staying for 10 day!!  So now people are starting to book - exciting!  I need to send invites soon!

The thing I'm most excited about is doing the out of town bags.  I can't stand waiting for everyone to book to know how much stuff to get!

Hey!

I am thinking about switching our location from the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica to Iberostar Paraiso. Switching will save us quite a bit of money (~$300/person) and I actually prefer the atmosphere of the Paraiso. I feel like I have invested so much time trying to understand every little thing about the Jamaica resort and the thought of starting over is really intimidating me. First off, how did you brides go about choosing between the 5 resorts at this complex.  I think the Grand will be a little out of our price range (we'll probably save that for the honeymoon) but I am completely clueless as to the differences in the other resorts and possible ceremony locations. Not to mention I have yet to find a map that makes sense of this property and tells what restaurants are available at each resort.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I think I'm about to drive my fiance crazy with my indecisiveness. Since we will have to pay for the travel of 6 close family members and ourselves every little bit of savings helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
