I sent our STD end of July. It's been 1 1/2 and no one has book, except the bride and groom & my FI bestfriend. No one from the wedding party either. It's very frustrating! My FI suggest I call ppl and ask them to book. I don't feel as if I should be doing that, I have enough going without having to Chase ppl down to come to our wedding. Thanks for listening. My FI thinks I'm being a bridezilla...whatever lol

How long ago did you announce your wedding? Maybe people are still saving?

Your wedding is May 2012, 8 months away. It's still early! I didn't even book for myself for my own DW that far in advance! For me, the real action was at 6 months (a few people booked before that). And I had guests book as late as 3 months in advance!

Don't fret! You will have more than 1 guest at your wedding.

Don't worry hun!  Most of my 30 guests booked their trip 2 months before the wedding.  I started planning in January 2011 and my wedding was July 2011.  It's really early and I found people didn't commit until right before (w/the exception of the wedding party and parents).

I was feeling exactly like you are a few months ago!!  Isn't it frustrating??

We had given everyone a deadline of July 15th and of course, most of our guests booked that last week.  We then extended our deadline until Aug 15th and a couple of people booked then.  A few people are still talking about booking but want to wait until the rates get cheaper.  The funny thing about that is, we have a price guarantee so if the rates drop, our guests will get the lower rates.  Silly people!!

FI kept telling me that as long as him and I are there, it doesn't matter who else comes and finally that sunk in.

I agree with capecodder FI, as long as you and him are there, that is all that matters ;)

Don't fret!!! It's still so early! We got engaged in August 2010, sent the STD in October 2010 (for our July 2011 wedding), and didn't book ourselves until February 2011! The majority of our guests booked in March 2011 (5 months before the wedding). We had guests book as late as one month before, and even a last minute guest a week before the wedding! Everyone important will be there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
